In 1905 William Crichton (Kenneth More) is the efficient butler in the London household of the Earl of Loam (Cecil Parker) and his family. Carry On Jack starts with the death of Admiral Horatio Nelson (Jimmy Thompson) whose last words are that Britain needs a bigger navy with more men, followed by his famous request for a kiss to Hardy (Anton Rodgers), upon which he meets his demise. Shanghai Sam vient de perdre son dernier matelot. Il roule Bugs en lui faisant croire qu'il va passer une croisière de rêve. Bugs doit ramer pour faire avancer le bateau, il doit laver le pont et en profite pour écrire un texte qui vise à insulter Sam, ce dernier lave le pont à sa place. Après s'être rendu compte de la supercherie, Sam coule après s'être déguisé en vieille dame et attrapé une ancre en forme de bébé sur un canoë. Il coule involontairement son bateau en suivant une carte au trésor. Dès lors, une séquence montre Sam en train de construire son bateau puis de le baptiser. Sam, en voulant tirer sur Bugs avec un canon, recoule son bateau.

The film begins with Shin and his family attending a convention that dates back to the 20th century. Even though adults like Hiroshi and Misae are filled with fascination and excitement, children like Shin and Himawari are disinterested and concerned for their parent's nostalgia. As this goes on, Ken and Chaco (the owners of the convention) discuss plans to "rid of the smell of the 21st century." This takes into effect during the night as Hiroshi and Misae suddenly sleeps for the night.
