Deuxième fiction de Eva Neymann après Au bord de l'eau en 2006, il s'agit du dernier rôle au cinéma de Yekaterina Golubeva, décédée peu après le tournage.
Le film est sorti en salles en France le 20 novembre 2013, distribué par A3 Distribution.
Synopsis
À l'hiver 1944, un garçonnet de huit ans traverse l'URSS en train, accompagné de sa mère, afin de rendre visite à son grand-père. Le voyage se trouve compromis lorsque la mère tombe gravement malade : hospitalisée d’urgence, elle meurt du typhus dans un village inconnu plongé par la Seconde Guerre mondiale dans une misère sombre, comme de nombreuses autres bourgades du pays. Livré à lui-même au milieu de paysages désolés et d'une population cupide et nécessiteuse, l'enfant reste toutefois déterminé à mener à terme son périple.Actors

En 1996, dans un hôpital psychiatrique situé en Ingouchie, près de la frontière avec la Tchétchénie, les patients se trouvent livrés à eux-mêmes lors de la première guerre. Tous les soirs, Janna et les autres malades regardent un train passer, féérique et illuminé. Cette jeune femme se rêve à bord de ce train avec le "fiancé" qu'elle s'est imaginé, le chanteur canadien Bryan Adams. Un soir, le train ne passe pas et le lendemain, c'est le chaos. Le directeur de l'hôpital a disparu. Des combattants tchétchènes débarquent, puis les Russes contre-attaquent... Dans cette folie meurtrière, Janna est la seule à apporter un peu de douceur et de joie lorsqu'elle joue de l'accordéon.

In 48 BC, Cleopatra vies with her brother Ptolemy for control of Egypt. Pothinos (Leonard Mudie) kidnaps her and Apollodorus (Irving Pichel) and strands them in the desert. When Pothinos informs Julius Caesar that the queen has fled the country, Caesar is ready to sign an agreement with Ptolemy when Apollodorus appears, bearing a gift carpet for the Roman. When Apollodorus unrolls it, Cleopatra emerges much to Pothinos' surprise- he tries to deny who she is. However Caesar sees through the deception and Cleopatra soon beguiles Caesar with the prospect of the riches of not only Egypt, but also India. Later, when they are seemingly alone, she spots a sandal peeking out from underneath a curtain and thrusts a spear into the hidden Pothinos, foiling his assassination attempt. Caesar makes Cleopatra the sole ruler of Egypt, and begins an affair with her.

After the end of the Cambodian Civil War, people in Cambodia struggled in their return to their normal lives. Among them is a kickboxer Savannah (Narith Roeun). A survivor of the war, who lost most of his family to the horrors of the Khmer Rouge, he lives with his uncle in Phnom Penh. Savannah begins a romance with a 19-year-old bar girl, Srey Poeuv (Chea Lyda Chan). She is humiliated by her debts to the bar's owner, and is forced to keep working. In the spring of 1968 in California, Sally (Jane Fonda), a loyal and conservative military wife, is married to Bob Hyde (Bruce Dern), a captain in the United States Marine Corps who is about to be deployed to Vietnam. Mostly taking elements from the Third Crusade, King Richard the Lionheart is enlisted in a crusade to bring Jerusalem back into Christian hands in order to get out of a betrothal with Princess Alice of France. En route, Richard meets Berengaria, Princess of Navarre and marries her in exchange for food for his men. During the Crusaders' attempts to get past the walls of Acre, Berengaria is captured by the Muslim Sultan Saladin and he brings her back to Jerusalem and attempts to woo her. Eventually, the Crusaders make their way to Jerusalem and after many battles Saladin declares a truce and Richard agrees. Berengaria and Richard fall in love and all the gates of Jerusalem are opened.
