Add to a movie listI Am a Sex Addict is a 2005 autobiographical comedy by American independent director and screenwriter Caveh Zahedi. Presented in semi-documentary style, the film chronicles Zahedi's own sex addiction and its impact on his life, relationships, and film making. His addiction was manifested by visiting prostitutes, and being open about this with his successive partners.
The film premiered at the International Film Festival Rotterdam and was subsequently picked up for distribution by IFC Films. It aired on The Movie Channel and Showtime in 2007, and subsequently has been shown on the Sundance Channel in the United States.
Though not a sequel; his 2001 film In the Bathtub of the World documents his life from where I Am a Sex Addict ends.

The film follows Caveh Zahedi on a road trip to Las Vegas with his father and half-brother in an attempt to prove the existence of God. He suggests that if God exists, and if God is indeed omniscient, omnipotent and omnibenevolent, then all the filmmaker has to do is roll the camera and let God direct the movie. In an attempt "to force God's hand" and change the direction of the film, Zahedi tries persuade his father and half-brother to take Ecstasy with him. When they refuse, things quickly start to unravel.

The Boxer Germán Bronco Torres (Jorge Rivero) loses his license, and works as bouncer at the cabaret El Pirulí (The Lolipop), where he falls for the fichera Carmen (Sasha Montenegro), and befriends of the pimp Margarito Fuensanta El Vaselinas (Eduardo de la Peña), who lost a bet and has to pay to a gangsters. When he discovers the situation, he hits the driver and send to the prison. Raúl sold his taxi to pay bail. El Vaselinas pretends to die to get rid of his creditors. The cabaret is closed and all begin a new life. In the adventures of these characters, appended the alcoholic woman know as La Corcholata (Carmen Salinas), a sympathetic woman trying to sneak to the cabaret, and the history of the owner of the cabaret, Don Atenógenes (Raúl 'Chato' Padilla), and his wife, the mistress of the brothel, Maria Teresa (Rosa Carmina).
