Synopsis
Elia (Sergio Rubini), est le dernier habitant de Provvidenza , un village du sud de l'Italie, détruit par un tremblement de terre. Il a refusé de partir contrairement au reste de la communauté qui préfère oublier et est partie s'installer dans la « Nuova Provvidenza ». Pour Elia, son village vit encore et grâce à l'aide de son vieil ami Gesualdo (Dino Abbrescia), essaie de garder vivant le souvenir à la mémoire de sa femme Maria, la petite maîtresse du village qui est morte lors du séisme.Actors

Francesco, surnommé Veleno habite un village des Pouilles. C'est un enfant issu d'une famille bourgeoise fasciné par la vie de ses camarades qui provenant de humbles familles populaires vivent dans des conditions d'apparente liberté et jouent dans une équipe de football amateur : la « Cosmica ». Zazà, le personnage le plus charismatique du groupe, transforme le timide et introverti Veleno en gardien de but, lui rend confiance et l'accepte dans le groupe après quelques épreuves d'initiation. The film opens in Gethsemane as Jesus prays and is tempted by Satan, while his disciples Peter, James and John (James' brother) sleep. Satan appears in Jesus' form, and tempts him by saying, "It's not right for one man to die for their sins." After Jesus' sweat becomes like blood and drips to the ground, a snake comes out from Satan. Jesus hears his disciples calling him, then he steps on the snake's head, and the Devil disappears. After receiving thirty pieces of silver, Judas, another of Jesus' disciples, approaches with the temple guards and betrays Jesus with a kiss on the cheek. As the guards move in to arrest Jesus, Peter cuts off the ear of Malchus, a servant of the high priest Caiaphas, but Jesus heals the ear. As the disciples flee, the temple guards arrest Jesus and beat him during the journey to the Sanhedrin. John tells Mary and Mary Magdalene of the arrest while Peter follows Jesus at a distance. Caiaphas holds trial over the objection of some of the other priests, who are expelled from the court. When questioned by Caiaphas whether he is the Son of God, Jesus replies "I am". Caiaphas is horrified and tears his robes, and Jesus is condemned to death for blasphemy. Peter, who is secretly watching, is confronted three times and denies three times, but then runs away sobbing after remembering that Jesus had foretold that. Meanwhile, the remorseful Judas attempts to return the money to have Jesus freed, but is refused by the priests. Tormented by Demons, he flees the city and hangs himself upon a tree with a rope he finds on a dead donkey.

The film is set in the year 1976, five years after the original film East is East. Little is known about most of the Khan children, except that they seldom communicate with their parents. Tariq is now a hippie (looking like George Harrison) who runs a new age shop with older brother Nazir and has an English girlfriend who is unaware of his true ethnicity, and Maneer is living with his extended family in Pakistan where he is searching for a suitable wife. Sajid, the youngest who no longer wears a parka, is a truant who is constantly bullied due to his Pakistani background, although the headmaster - a former British soldier who had served in the Punjab - is sympathetic and encourages him to embrace his heritage. After Sajid is caught shoplifting, his father George, who has somewhat retained his bullying nature, attacks him at home. When Sajid retaliates by calling him a "dirty Paki bastard," a devastated George states all of his other children in England have become British and he cannot lose Sajid as well, so he decides to take him to Pakistan to meet his extended family and show him that life there is better, though Ella openly disapproves.

Stewart McBain (Coleman) is a successful self-made demolitions expert who blows up buildings for a living.
