Islands (Italian: Isole) is an Italian drama film released in 2011, directed by Stefano Chiantini and starring Asia Argento.
The film was presented in world première at the Toronto International Film Festival 2011, then at the Festival de Cine Italiano in Madrid, at the London Italian Film Festival 2012 and at the Lavazza Italian Film Festival 2012 in Sydney.
Synopsis
The first scenes of the film are set in the historical center of the town of Termoli. A young illegal immigrant called Ivan is looking for a job. He is a bricklayer and lives in a small flat with his old and sick father. Precisely in with the intention to find a job he sets off to the Isole Tremiti, Apulia, but cannot not return as planned and had to extend his sojourn. There he meets two people who are going to help him. One is Don Enzo, an uncommon priest who lives in a small house and takes care of his bees. The other is Martina, a young woman who, since her daughter's death, has closed herself in silence, and lives in Don Enzo's house, her former tutor. Martina and Ivan become friends, and even don Enzo starts to feel some sympathy for the youngster.Actors

Scarlet Diva is a semi-autobiographical film about the Italian actress and director Asia Argento's life as an actress. A self-destructive streak in Anna Batista (Argento) pulls her into drugs, sex and other excesses. To combat this descent, she attempts to fulfill her creative side by becoming a film director. Batista's attempts to realize her talent is thwarted however by her desires and the uncaring responses of those around her. As part of her plans to become a director and bring her story to the screen, Batista travels to Los Angeles but only meets a shady film producer (Joe Coleman). She falls in love with an uncaring Australian rock and roll star (Jean Shepard), then finds out she is pregnant by him. But her life is still in disarray as she uses drugs to help her feel better. Released in January 2000, Scarlet Diva was shot entirely on digital video, making it among the earliest feature films to be created with this technology.

The film tells the story of Alice (Alexandra Negrão) who confesses to a detective named Anita (Asia Argento) that her mother Eva (Frances Barber) is a dangerous killer. Eva is also a very powerful and wealthy leader of a vast crime syndicate. She discovers that her daughter met with the police and tries to stop her. Unbeknownst at first to both Anita and Eva, Alice escapes from France and leaves for Portugal to reunite with her supposedly dead father. Eva's henchmen chase after her. Alice meets a mercenary while escaping, Hugo (Jean-Marc Barr), who then joins Alice as her protector on her journey to find her father. Anita travels after her, as well. After Eva's henchmen close in, Eva reappears to "reclaim" her daughter.

In Paris 1877 a pack of rats save an abandoned baby from a basket that was flowing along a river. They raise him in the underground of the Opéra de Paris.
