Synopsis
Daniel est directeur d'une école maternelle dans le nord de la France qui n'est pas en zone d'éducation prioritaire. Enseignant avec passion et convictions, il doit faire face à la petite délinquance, à des institutions publiques dépassées par l'ampleur de la détresse sociale des familles, qui sont frappées par la pauvreté (causée par la désindustrialisation et les pertes d'emplois...35 % de chômage dans la population active de la commune), et à une hiérarchie quelque peu méprisante.Actors

LouAnne (Michelle Pfeiffer), a discharged U.S. Marine, applies for a teaching job in High School, and is surprised and pleased to be offered the position with immediate effect. Showing up the next day to begin teaching, however, she finds herself confronted with a classroom of tough, sullen teenagers, all from lower-class and underprivileged backgrounds, involved in gang warfare and drug pushing, flatly refusing to engage with anything. They immediately coin the nickname "White Bread" for LouAnne, due to her race and apparent lack of authority, to which LouAnne responds by returning the next day in a leather jacket and teaching them karate. Lui Wai-hung (Miriam Yeung) is a headmistress of an international kindergarten. Feeling disillusioned with the education system, she quits her high-paying job as a principal and plans to travel around the world with her her husband Tse Wing-tung (Louis Koo). Sean Randall (Connor Jessup), a goth teenager, is a friend of classmate Deanna (Alexia Fast), with whom he rides the bus every day.
