Synopsis
La vieille Safiye raconte à la jeune Anita son histoire qui est celle de la dernière odalisque. Au début du XX siècle et à la veille de l'effondrement de l'Empire ottoman, dans le harem du sultan Abdülhamid II, elle est tombée amoureuse de l'eunuque Nadir avec lequel elle a conclu un pacte pour obtenir le pouvoir, c'est ainsi qu'elle a été amenée à devenir la « Favorite » du sultan, à qui elle donnera un enfant. Malheureusement, tout ce qu'elle avait conquis s'effondre lamentablement : son fils meurt empoisonné, le harem est dissous et Safiye est forcée de partir pour l'Italie où elle s'exhibera au théâtre pour survivre..Actors

Saturn in Opposition is the story of a group of very close friends in Rome and how they cope with the sudden death of one of their members. The original group, who have been together for many years, are two straight couples, Antonio and Angelica and Roberto and Neval; and a gay couple now separated, Sergio and Davide, a successful author. Relatively new additions to the group are Davide's current lover Lorenzo and Lorenzo's friend Roberta. Early in the movie a final member is added to the group: Paolo, an acquaintance of Lorenzo and Roberta and an aspiring writer.

When Antonia's husband Massimo is killed in a car accident, she accidentally discovers that he has been having a same-sex affair with a produce wholesaler named Michele. The Cantones are a bourgeois family who own a pasta factory in Lecce in conservative Southern Italy. One of the two sons, Tommaso (Riccardo Scamarcio), returns from his studies in Rome and hopes to make the most of a family reunion to reveal his homosexuality. Tommaso discusses his plans with his elder brother, Antonio (Alessandro Preziosi), and also tells him about his desire to break away from the family business to become a writer in Rome. During a dinner with the Brunetti family, with whom the Cantones are in business, just as Tommaso is about to share his news, Antonio interrupts and reveals to everyone that he himself is homosexual. Mr Cantone (Ennio Fantastichini), the brothers' father, takes the news badly and is admitted to hospital.

Antonio and Emma have been separated for years, but he does not accept when Emma dates other men. Indeed Antonio proves obsessive, aggressive and intrusive, and again threatens Emma to hurt the children: little Kevin, shy and introverted, and the adolescent Valentina.
