Synopsis
Dans un village viticole d'Autriche, l'ancien commissaire Simon Polt vit tranquillement rendant visite à quelques amis de son age. Il écoute les confidences d'une ancienne actrice, Mira Martell, qui n'a jamais eu de succès. Une jeune fille, Laura Eichinger, est retrouvée noyée dans la petite rivière qui traverse l’agglomération. Un ancien collègue, Bastian Priml, devenu alcoolique lui demande de l'aider à enquêter car ses supérieurs concluant à un suicide veulent classer l'affaire. Les parents de Laura le rencontrent pour le même motif.Actors

A woman (Martina Gedeck) travels with her two friends, Hugo and Luise, and their loyal dog Lynx to their isolated hunting lodge in the Austrian Alps. Soon after they arrive, Luise insists that Hugo accompany her to a pub in a nearby village, leaving behind their dog and the woman. The next morning, realizing her friends never returned as planned, the woman sets off on foot toward the village, followed by the dog. As she walks along the road, her progress is stopped abruptly by a mysterious invisible wall. After several unsuccessful attempts to continue past the invisible barrier, the woman turns back to the lodge with the dog. Along the way she approaches a farmhouse, but again is prevented by the invisible wall from making contact with the two owners who appear frozen in time.

Leila, danseuse des "Las Vegas Girls", un club de Londres, a rendez-vous dans un hôtel avec Mr. Jefferson, son amant, pour un nouveau contrat. Peu avant la prochaine répétition au théâtre de l'Odéon, Leila est victime d'un empoisonnement. Dans les coulisses, ils soupçonnent de nombreuses personnes comme Eric le ventriloque ou Rubiro le lanceur de couteaux, à qui il en manque un. Par ailleurs, la danseuse Yvonne Duval, qui est amoureuse de Bruce Sharringham, fait son apparition. Lady Sharringham, sa mère, s'oppose au mariage de son fils avec une danseuse. Yvonne a du mal à le croire, car il obéit à sa mère et il est héroïnomane.

Rod Tillman (Alaimo) is a stock car driver that is running out of money. He sells his trailer and hangs out at a swinging 1960s bar where he meets a group of bikers ( Pastrano, Vella, and Gillen) that call themselves "Satan's Angels". They realize Rod can drive the getaway car for their robberies and offer him a place in their gang. Despite making out with the lady in the group, Linda (Byers), Rod opts out. On his way back to the town of Citrusville, he gets recruited by Lieutenant Dorn (Walter Philbin) to go undercover amongst the bikers, who have thus far been able to outsmart the police due to their mobility on motorcycles. After the police fix a race to make it appear that Rod is in desperate need of money, the bikers agree to let him join the gang. He proves himself as a driver during a hold up at a gun shop where the owner is shot. Back at the hideout, Linda reveals that she doesn't commit these crimes for financial gain, but for the thrill of the action. During their next crime, a bank robbery, Rod signals to a passing officer while the gang is inside. A shooting spree ensues and the gang realizes Rod is a mole, forcing him to drive away at gunpoint. Several policemen are killed as they chase the gang to an old lighthouse. Banjo and Fats are killed and Rod tries to make a break by running up the spiral staircase of the lighthouse. Jeeter follows after him and corners him with a shotgun. A shot is heard, and it's revealed that Linda, having a change of heart about her life of crime, has saved the life of the wounded hero. Linda goes off to a life in prison and Rod walks into the sunset with Lieutenant Dorn.

Rancher Taw Jackson (John Wayne) returns to his hometown to settle a score. Three years earlier, he was framed by corrupt businessman Frank Pierce (Bruce Cabot) and wrongfully imprisoned. Pierce did this to confiscate Jackson's land, where he had discovered gold. After his prison sentence was cut short for good behavior, Jackson returns to steal a shipment of gold from Pierce. He hires Lomax (Kirk Douglas) to assist him, even though he had worked as a hired gun for Pierce and was instrumental in sending him to prison. Jackson needs Lomax not only because of his marksmanship, but also because he is a safe-cracker. The gold shipment is being transported in a "war wagon," a heavily armored stagecoach armed with a deadly Gatling gun in a top-mounted steerable turret. Jackson and Lomax assemble a gang and plan to rob the war wagon at the weakest point in the route it travels.
