La Légende de la forêt (森の伝説, Mori no densetsu) est un film d'animation japonais réalisé en 1987 par Osamu Tezuka et son studio, Tezuka Productions.
Initialement prévu en quatre mouvements, le film est présenté de manière incomplète en 1988, à l'occasion de la remise du prix Asahi, sous la forme d'une première partie regroupant le premier et le quatrième mouvement. Les deux segments centraux restent inachevés à la mort de Tezuka, en 1989. Makoto Tezuka, fils du réalisateur dirigeant en partie Tezuka Productions, réalise le second mouvement en 2014 sous le titre The Legend of the Forest - Part 2.
Le premier mouvement de l'anime expose la lutte entre un écureuil volant et un bûcheron chasseur. Le second, réalisé par Makoto Tezuka, met en scène l'histoire d'amour de deux libellules en suivant le cours d'une rivière traversant la forêt. Le troisième mouvement, non réalisé, devait présenter la chute de gouttes de pluie. Le quatrième et dernier mouvement met en scène les esprits de la forêt qui tentent de sauver leur environnement des ravages causés par des forestiers.
Le film est entièrement muet et chaque segment est conçu de manière à être synchronisé avec la musique des différents mouvements de la Symphonie n 4 de Piotr Ilitch Tchaïkovski. Inspiré de l'univers de Walt Disney, il constitue également un hommage à l'histoire du cinéma d'animation, tout en s'érigeant en pamphlet artistique doublé d'une prise de position écologiste.
Synopsis
Le film s'ouvre sur le survol d'une grande forêt. Des oiseaux s'enfuient, effrayés par un bûcheron qui coupe un arbre à la tronçonneuse. Un écureuil volant se rue dans l'une des cavités creusées dans le tronc, qui se trouve être le nid où vient de mettre bas sa compagne. Le père transporte ses enfants un par un sur un autre arbre, mais l'un d'eux lui échappe et disparaît en contrebas. N'ayant pas le temps de se laisser aller à son désespoir, il continue de mettre sa progéniture en sûreté.Comments

Alakazam is a young and brave monkey (a macaque) who has been encouraged by all the other monkeys to become their king. After attaining the throne, he becomes rude and dictatorial, and does not believe that human beings are greater than he is. Then he tricks/forces Merlin the magician to teach him magic (reluctantly on Merlin's part, who warns Alakazam that the powers he acquires now will bring him much unhappiness later).

In Paris in 1910, mother cat Duchess and her three kittens, Marie, Berlioz, and Toulouse, live with retired opera diva Madame Adelaide Bonfamille, and her English butler, Edgar. While preparing her will with lawyer Georges Hautecourt, Madame declares her fortune to be left to her cats until their deaths, and thereafter to Edgar. Edgar hears this through a speaking tube, and plots to eliminate the cats. Therefore, he sedates the cats by sleeping pills in their food, and enters the countryside to abandon them. There, he is ambushed by two hounds, named Napoleon and Lafayette, and the cats are stranded in the countryside, while Madame Adelaide, Roquefort the mouse, and Frou-Frou the horse discover their absence. In the morning, Duchess meets an alley cat named Thomas O'Malley, who offers to guide her and the kittens to Paris. The group briefly hitchhike in a milk cart before being chased off by the driver. Later, while crossing a railroad trestle, the cats narrowly avoid an oncoming train, but Marie falls into a river and is saved by O'Malley; himself rescued by two English geese, Amelia and Abigail Gabble, who accompany the cats to Paris. Edgar returns to the country to retrieve his possessions from Napoleon and Lafayette, as the only evidence that could incriminate him.

In the Kingdom of Oriana, Princess Oriana, ruler of the kingdom, has been informed by a local fortune teller Pearl that her evil uncle, the Duke of Zill, is invading the kingdom. To counter the threat of the Duke, Oriana and Pearl descend into the cavern underneath the castle and attempt to use an ancient device called the "Dimensporter" in order to escape to another dimension and find a hero to save the kingdom. However, they are caught by the Duke's robotic army and imprisoned, while the Duke himself seizes control of the kingdom. As the princess is taken away by the Duke's "Cylinder" robots, she sheds a magical tear, which flies into the Dimensporter in her place and is transported to Felix's dimension, where the eponymous feline is taking a nap underneath a palm tree when the tear finds him. The tear wakes and guides him to an abandoned gold mine, where the Dimensporter is located. Felix, with his magical bag of tricks, is soon transported to the Kingdom of Oriana.

In the Australian Outback, a young boy named Cody rescues and befriends a rare golden eagle named Marahute, who shows him her nest and eggs. Later on, the boy unknowingly falls into an animal trap set by Percival C. McLeach, a local poacher wanted by the Australian Rangers. When McLeach finds one of the eagle's feathers on the boy's backpack, he is instantly overcome with excitement, for he knows that catching an eagle that size would make him rich because he had caught one before, which was Marahute's mate. McLeach throws Cody's backpack to a pack of crocodiles in order to trick the Rangers into thinking that Cody was dead, and kidnaps him in his attempt to force him to reveal the whereabouts of Marahute.

The Ninja Turtles are alerted by their master Splinter that they have been careless and discovered fighting the Purple Dragons on TV. Denying this, they set out to break into the Purple Dragons' HQ to get to the bottom of these doppelgängers. Upon doing so, the Turtles discover that their "impostors" are Turtles from another universe. They escape together, but the '03 Turtles find the '87 team childish as they refuse talk until lunch. They enter a pizza place, only to terrify the citizens, who call the cops; the turtles flee, only for the '03 Turtles and Splinter to capture them. '87 Leo explains his team was fighting Shredder over Mutagen in the Technodrome; the dimensional teleporter backfired, sending them all to this world. Checking recent tremor reports, the Turtles find the Technodrome; however, '87 Shredder manages to elude them, forcing his foes to build a portal device to reach their universe for "anti-Technodrome gear". In the meantime, Shredder locates an '03 Shredder on an icy asteroid. After Ch'rell is thawed out, he is contained for vivisection, as he's too insane to work with; however, his adopted daughter, Karai, breaks into and frees him; she had been monitoring his exile.

The film revolves around a special team of trained secret agent animals, equipped with advanced tools that allows the mammalian members to talk to humans. The primary field team consists of guinea pigs Darwin (team leader), Juarez (martial arts), and Blaster (weapons/transportation), star-nosed mole Speckles (cyber intelligence) and fly Mooch (reconnaissance). The unit's leader Ben, orders an unauthorised infiltration of the residence of home electronics and appliances magnate, Leonard Saber, the owner of Saberling Technology, who has been under FBI investigation. The team is able to retrieve sensitive information about a sinister scheme that is set to occur in 48 hours. However, when Ben's superior arrives for his evaluation, his astonishment at the team's capabilities and technology is overcome by his indignation at Ben's unauthorized mission and the fact that the downloaded intelligence appears to be useless information about Saber's coffee makers. As a result, the government agent orders the unit shut down, the equipment seized and the animals to be used as experimental subjects to be killed. With the help of their human compatriots, Darwin, Juarez, Blaster, Mooch and Speckles escape with hopes of stopping Saber's scheme, but find themselves in a pet carrying case bound for a pet shop.
