Synopsis
Au début des années 1980, une bande de voleurs originaires de Chine franchit la frontière et s’introduit clandestinement à Hong Kong. Leur première opération de cambriolage se solde par un échec. Traqués par la police, les malfrats sont très vite sur la brèche. N’ayant plus rien à perdre, ils décident de tenter le tout pour le tout et transforme la ville en champ de bataille. L’équipée sanglante se termine dans la cité de Kowloon où les forces de l’ordre vont devoir affronter un véritable camp retranchéComments

Lam Wai Tung has cancer. In order to raise money for his younger brother Wai Leung to study medicine overseas, he robs some diamond for smuggler Chiu Ying Kau. After the robbery, he hides the real diamonds himself and gives fake diamonds to Chiu, which he then finds out and kills Tung. In order to recover the diamonds, Chiu sets a scheme and makes Leung a murder suspect and arranges his Japanese female subordinate Miko to save him and hide him and nurse his gunshot wounds. Under Miko's attentive treatment, Leung heals and they establish a profound friendship.

Frank Martin (Jason Statham) has relocated from southern France to Miami, Florida. As a favor, he becomes a temporary chauffeur for the wealthy Billings family. The marriage of Jefferson (Matthew Modine) and Audrey Billings (Amber Valletta) is under great strain due to the demands of his high-profile government job. The main character, J.J. McQuade (Norris), is a former Marine and a Texas Ranger who prefers to work alone. He lives in an old trailer in the middle of nowhere with a pet wolf. The film opens with McQuade involved in an intense battle with Mexican bandits and a gang of horse thieves from which he emerges unscathed (saving several Texas State Troopers). Shaking off the dust, McQuade returns to El Paso, Texas to attend the retirement ceremony of his fellow Ranger and close friend Dakota (Jones). After the party, his commander attempts to curb his "lone wolf" attitude by insisting he work with local Texas State Trooper Kayo Ramos (Beltran), a tough but clean-cut and polite Latino. In Japan, the home of Chozen "Cho" Osaki (Sho Kosugi) is attacked by an army of ninjas, resulting in the slaughter of his entire family except for his mother and his younger son, Kane (Kane Kosugi).
