Louis, Martin & Michael is a British documentary that was televised on 16 November 2003.
After losing out to Martin Bashir for an opportunity to produce an official Michael Jackson documentary, Louis Theroux tries his best to obtain an interview with Michael, but cannot. In the process, Louis is seen meeting with Uri Geller and Michael's father Joseph Jackson. Louis is required to pay $5000 to interview Michael's father. The fee was negotiated through a person named Majestik Magnificent, who claims to be Michael Jackson's (and, previously, Muhammad Ali's) personal magician. Majestik participates in the second of two interviews, often prompting Mr. Jackson or interrupting Louis' questions. Majestik's own fee for securing the interview with Joseph was $500.
Louis comments about Michael during the interview to Joseph "He is so much in the public eye, I don't think he has very much left for himself."
Joe Jackson confessed in the documentary to often whipping Michael. After Theroux asks whether Michael would be happy settling down with a partner, an offended Jackson denies his son is gay, voices his disproval of homosexuality and ends the interview.Actors

After the Church of Scientology refuses to cooperate in making a documentary, Louis Theroux teams up with former senior church official Mark Rathbun to create dramatic reconstructions of incidents within the church witnessed by Rathbun and other ex-Scientologists. They focus in particular on alleged violent behaviour by the church's leader David Miscavige at its secretive Gold Base facility in California, which Theroux visits. The church retaliates by putting Theroux and his film crew under surveillance, leading to camera-wielding confrontations with a Scientology "squirrel buster" team and with church officials outside Gold Base. Theroux raises questions about Rathbun's own former complicity in the church's "terroristic" activities, leading to tensions between the two men., 1h

Theroux returned to Topeka after four years, to investigate the departure of several members of the Phelps family since his last visit. His return was prompted by an email he received from a young member of the church he had interviewed previously, who had since left and been disfellowshipped. The US Supreme Court case of Snyder v. Phelps, heard following the suing of Westboro Baptist Church for distress caused by the picketing of the funeral of a US Marine killed in Iraq, formed the background to the new film. Theroux was interested in the ambivalent attitude of church members towards his first film, and stated that "the new documentary feels quite different than the original – though still funny, a little darker and stranger".
