Miss Priyambada (Bengali: মিস প্রিয়ংবদা) was released on 18 August 1967. This is a Bengali movie starring Bhanu Bandyopadhyay, Jahar Roy, Tarun Kumar and Lili Chakraborty.

Synopsis

Biltu [বিল্টু](Tarun Kumar) is a very honest, sincere, and energetic young man, who stays at a boarding house Pantha Nibas. Biltu loves Doli [ডলি]. Her maternal uncle is the only guardian. A neighbor of Biltu comes to her uncle and informs that Doli and Biltu likes each other. Doli’s uncle then decides to arrange her marriage as soon as possible. He contacts his business friend and finalises the groom, who is one of his friend’s son. After listening this news, Biltu seeks for help from his friends. One of them eventually enters the house as a nurse (with false name Priyambada, played by Bhanu Bandyopadhyay) to take care of Doli and another friend is appointed as the house guard. Meanwhile, Doli’s uncle proposes Miss Priyambada. After have some hilarious incidents, Biltu weds Doli and lives happily together.

Bhanu Chitrakar (Bhanu Bandopadhyay) is a village-based clay modellist who earns a living selling earthen toys and singing. One day, he is presented a ticket for the Luck Velky Lottery by his Kolkata-based friend Jahar (Jahor Roy), with the first prize for the lottery standing at Rs 395,000. While Bhanu initially refuses to accept the ticket, he is finally coaxed into buying them, and goes to bed with the ticket stuck to his chest expecting the telegram announcing him as the winner to arrive anytime the next morning.

Ravi(Tarun), a school dropout and vagabond falls in love with Swati(Arti Agarwal) the minute he sets his eyes on her, but loses sight of her in a sea of people and traffic. After tumultuous attempts and near hits and misses he manages to find her. Swati lived under the shadow of a tyrannical brother who was trying to get her married. Ravi manages to establish visual contact with Swathi and understands from her mute plight that she wanted to leave home. Ravi helps her escape home and is elated to know that she left home for him. But his bubble qhickly bursts when he comes to know that Swati had used his help to get to her lover Chandu(Jugal Hansraj). But Ravi braves the goons who chase them and fights the tears of heartbreak and decides to help Swathi meet her lover. This draws ire from Ravi’s friends who had helped him all along in his love story. They think Ravi should dump the girl. He disagrees and they desert him. Armed only with unflinching, selfless love Ravi embarks on an adventure with Swathi to find her lover Chandu. Finally he manages to fight the goons of Swathi’s brother and unites Swathi and Chandu. Ravi’s selfless sacrifice melts Swathi’s heart and makes her wonder what true love was.

Sridhar (Tarun) is a final year degree student and gets selected in the campus selections for studies abroad. He goes to Mumbai for an interview and in his return finds Preeti (Trisha) and loses his heart to her. Sridhar comes to know that Preeti was about to join in degree and Preeti learns that he was a final year degree student. Sridhar is an ardent cricket fan, so is Preeti, while Sridhar is also a good football player. The principal of the college appoints a coach called Reshma (Shriya), who is also a student, for the football team led by Sridhar. Sridhar tries his best to trace Preeti by visiting several women's colleges, while Preeti also watches for Sridhar at the men's college. Accidentally, Preeti helps Sridhar's mother, when she had a heart attack. In order to find Preeti at any cost, Sridhar goes to the LB Stadium, where a cricket match is in progress and gets injuries in a bomb blast in the stadium. Just before the blast, both Preeti and Sridhar find each other but could not meet due to the blast.
