Synopsis
Miranti (Jenny Rachman) is left a widow after her pilot husband dies in an accident. She forces herself to work independently, despite feeling alienated. She soon learns that her brother-in-law Dimas (Roy Marten) cares greatly for her. Miranti ultimately realises that his feelings are more than just pity, and the two can unite.Actors

Fatima (Jenny Rachman) offers herself to be brought away by Japanese occupation forces to save her of her daughter, thus resigning herself to the fate of a comfort woman. The film takes place in Indonesia in the early 1940s, covering the Japanese occupation and slightly before. Jimmy "Fingers" Angelelli (Harvey Keitel) is a brilliant young pianist who also works as a collector for his father Ben (Michael V. Gazzo), a powerful loan shark.
