Mock Up on Mu is a 2008 science fiction film directed by San Francisco film artist Craig Baldwin, filmed by Bill Daniel, and edited by Sylvia Schedelbauer. It was filmed in 16 mm and runs for 110 minutes. Mock Up on Mu opened at the New York Film Festival in 2008. The film content is divided into 13 chapters that tell seemingly true tales about "American inner and outer space travel". It cobbles together old NASA footage, excerpts and trailers from various Hollywood films and TV series, home movies, and Baldwin's own dramatizations to weave a mythical farce that incorporates components of Scientology prehistory. Major characters interwoven into the film are the rocket scientist Jack Parsons (Kal Spelletich), his beatnik wife Marjorie Cameron (Michelle Silva) and Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard (Damon Packard).

Set in Germany sometime in the late 18th century where Mytyl (Shirley Temple), the bratty daughter of a woodcutter (Russell Hicks), finds a unique bird in the Royal Forest and selfishly refuses to give it to her sick friend. Mother and Father are mortified at Mytyl's behavior. That evening, Father is called on to report for duty the next morning in an unspecified war. That same night, Mytyl is visited in a dream by a fairy named Berylune (Jessie Ralph) who sends her and her brother Tyltyl (Johnny Russell) to search for the Blue Bird of Happiness. To accompany them, the fairy magically transforms their dog Tylo (Eddie Collins), cat Tylette (Gale Sondergaard), and lantern ("Light") into human form. The children have a number of adventures, visiting the past and their dead grandparents who come to life because they are being remembered, a scary adventure in the forest, the life of luxury, and the future, a land of yet-to-be born children. The dream journey makes Mytyl awake as a kinder and gentler girl who has learned to appreciate all the comforts and joys of her home and family. In the morning, the Father receives word that a truce has been called and he does not have to go to war.

The Movie From the Future is a movie within a movie. The set-up is you are watching an Unsolved Mysteries type program about a video tape found in a crater with a note reading "From Future." Most of the movie consists of the contents of the tape with various experts breaking in to offer their opinions on the validity of the tape or whether it is a hoax. The contents of the tape seem to be a made-for-television feature from the future about inter-species love, futuritistic inventors, and plans to destroy the world by aliens and the robots attempting to thwart them.

When Nicola Anders (Winona Ryder), the star of out-of-favor director Viktor Taransky's (Al Pacino) new film refuses to finish it, Taransky is forced to find a replacement. Contractual requirements totally prevent using her image in the film, so he must re-shoot. Instead, Viktor experiments with a new computer program he inherits from late acquaintance Hank Aleno (Elias Koteas) which allows creation of a computer-generated woman which he can easily animate to play the film's central character. Viktor names his virtual actor "Simone", a name derived from the computer program's title, Simulation One. Seamlessly incorporated into the film, Simone (Rachel Roberts) gives a fantastic performance, exactly controlled by Viktor. The film is immediately a huge success.
