Synopsis
Sirasu (Jayaram) and his elder brother Perusu(Goundamani) own a village cinema theatre lot of orchards and farms and they are very rich bachelors. Their family gets the first respect in their region. For several years, his family are in feud with their Rich relative Parameswaran's family because Sirasu's father was killed by Parameswaran's brother and parameshwaran's brother got death sentence and Saratha (hero's elder sister,19 years older than hero) got married with Parameswaran's relative secretly.Actors

Raja (Karthik) feels stifled under his strict father Col. Chandrasekhar (Jaiganesh) and when his father picks a girl he doesn't like for him to marry, it is the last straw and he runs away to Ooty. There he teams up with Vasu (Goundamani) and they come up with an ill-advised plan to kidnap Indu (Rambha), the daughter of Vishwanathan (Manivannan). Vishwanathan is in fact Col. Chandrasekhar's friend and it is Indu that Raja was supposed to marry. But Vishwanathan now mistakes Vasu to be his friend's son and takes him under his wing while Raja is hired to be his driver.

The film is about Prabhu (Prabhu Deva) and Mani (Manivannan) who earn money through dubious means to support a few orphaned children. They steal a diamond but while escaping, Mani stuffs the diamond into a toy sitting in a car. Chasing the toy takes them to the house of K.D.Chandrasekhar (S. S. Chandran), a rich man in Ooty and with Mani posing as the longlost husband of KD's sister, they enter the household. Pooja (Maheshwari), KD's daughter, falls in love with Prabhu but just as he is being engaged to her, he finds out that her sister Indu (Meena) is the woman of his dreams, the woman he had lost his heart to after seeing her for a few minutes in Coimbatore. Meena bared fully So, he takes off his beard to assume a new identity as Deva, Prabhu's brother and proceeds to woo Indu.

Indu and Chandru (Ramba and Karthik) fall in love. Indu does the disappearing act and Chandru gets engaged to Rekha (Mumtaz). Indu re-appears after three years with a little girl, who she claims is Chandru's daughter. Chandru vehemently denies it and finding Indu's presence an embarrassment tries to ferret out the truth. After many scenes of forced comedy, we learn that the girl is the illegitimate daughter of Chandru's much-married brother, who had seduced Indu's sister. After his brother's futile attempt to play the villain, Chandru latches on to Indu fast enough. And with no apology to Rekha. But it is not really Chandru's fault. For Rekha had done the disappearing act from the scene early enough without any explanation either.

Sakthi (Karthik) is a spoiled rich child, with his mother (Sachu) and grandfather (Kaka Radhakrishnan) constantly doting on him with cash and gifts. His father (Vinu Chakravarthy) is worried that he has such a good-for-nothing son. Sakthi falls head over heels in love with Indhu (Rambha). Sakthivel’s uncle, Kundalakesi (Goundamani), aids Sakthi in declaring his love to Indhu. In the meantime, Sakthi's father meets his long-lost friend (Jaiganesh) and they agree on a marriage proposal for their children. Sakthi, (who wrongly believes that he is being forced into an arranged marriage) does not realize that Indhu is indeed Jayaganesh’s daughter and gets his cousin Mathi (Vivek) and Kundalakesi to misbehave and create a fight during the engagement. Eventually the truth is revealed Indhu is furious. Sakthi sees a girl called Latha (Indhu) committing suicide. Inspector (Madhan Bob) wrongly thinks they are a married couple and tries to marry them to each other but Sakthi escapes. Sakthi mistakenly hurts another girl (Vinodhini) whose father (S. S. Chandran) also thinks him her husband. Sakthi's cousin, Mathi, is a henpecked husband to a rich and arrogant wife (Anju) and lies to her that Vichithra is Sakthi's husband. At last, Sakthi is going to marry Indhu, but people who areknown to the three girls come and misbehave. The three girls explain the situation and make them understand what happened. Sakthi and Indhu get married.

Kai Ezhuthu Gounder (Manivannan) and Kai Naattu Gounder (K. Prabakaran) are the village's bigwig and best friends. While their children Raja (Arun Vijay) and Indhu (Kirthika) hate each other, they are classmates and quarrel continually. In contrast, their fathers want to marry them. Sorna (Rajashree), a dancer, comes to their village to separate the thick friends. Finally, Raja and Kirthika fall in love with each other. Sorna seduces the thick friends and create a conflict between them. In the past, Kai Ezhuthu Gounder and Kai Naattu Gounder tries to rape Sorna's sister and before it she committed suicide. Since that day, Sorna wanted to take revenge. Raja and Indhu are distraught, Sorna only wanted to punish Kai Ezhuthu Gounder and Kai Naattu Gounder but not the young lovers, so she comes to their rescue. What transpires later forms the crux of the story.

The movie starts with the birth of a baby girl, Nandini, in a rich family. Nandini's three brothers throw a feast in honor of the girl child. The young son of the local singer (who had died) is brought in to sing for the event. The three brothers raise Nandini like their own child as their parents had died. At the age of 5, an astrologer predicts that Nandini will bring much happiness to the family, but her marriage will based on her choice and not the choice of her brothers. The film begins with ad filmmaker Anbarasu (R. Madhavan), who prefers the much-abbreviated alias A. Aras arriving at the Bhubaneswar Airport in Odisha, India. He is about to board a flight back to Chennai for his wedding. While waiting at airport, Aras watches the television news about a terrorist threat at an airport in Mumbai. Remarking to himself that the country is going to the dogs, he looks around and sees a bespectacled man with scars taking out something rolled up in a newspaper from his bag. He informs the authorities, only to learn that the man was simply taking out a cucumber rather than what he believed it to be a bomb.
