My Father the Hero (original French title: Mon père, ce héros) is a 1991 French film directed by Gérard Lauzier. An English language remake of the movie was made in 1994 .
The name of the film comes from a famous poem by the French poet Victor Hugo, "Mon père, ce héros," published in 1859.
Synopsis
The story introduces André (Gérard Depardieu), a Frenchman who is divorced from his wife. He takes his beautiful teenage daughter, Véronique (Marie Gillain), on vacation to a paradise island with him. She is desperate to appear as a woman and not a girl, so in order to impress a local boy, she makes up more and more fascinating, yet intriguing stories, starting with André being her lover - a sugar Daddy. André is desperate to make Véronique happy and so plays along with her elaborate games, the stories they make up get increasingly bizarre, funnily consistent.Actors

Raoul (Gérard Depardieu) and his wife Solange (Carole Laure) are eating in a restaurant when Raoul expresses concern with Solange's apparent depression, as she eats little, suffers migraines and insomnia and also sometimes faints. He finds another man in the room, Stéphane (Patrick Dewaere), to be her lover and hopefully enliven her again. Stéphane is puzzled by Raoul's plan but gives in to his desperate appeals for help. The two men take turns sleeping with Solange, and both try to impregnate her without success, believing a lack of a child to be the source of her depression.

Laurent Monier est professeur agrégé d'histoire au lycée Fénelon d'Annecy. Le jour de ses 40 ans, il rentre dans son appartement plongé dans le noir ; il ignore que sa femme, ses enfants, sa belle-mère et ses amis sont en réalité dissimulés dans l'obscurité, n'attendant que le bon moment pour lui faire une surprise. Mais avant que son épouse n'ait pu rallumer la lumière, Monier décroche le téléphone et se croyant seul, bavarde avec l'appelant que l'on devine être sa maîtresse. Hélène, sa femme, rallume alors la lumière et s'enfuit dans sa chambre, alors même que leur jeune fils enclenche innocemment une cassette audio diffusant une chanson de joyeux anniversaire. Monier découvre le désastre sous l'œil narquois de son inénarrable belle-mère et de ses amis, qui ne savent plus où se mettre. Le couple divorce. Hélène étant nommée dans un lycée parisien, Laurent demande également sa mutation afin de rester près de ses enfants. Il se retrouve au collège Serge-Gainsbourg à Saint-Denis, établissement dit « sensible ». Dans ce collège, on l'affecte à la classe réputée la plus dissipée et indisciplinée de l'établissement, la 4e Techno. L'appartement de fonction qui lui est alloué, auparavant occupé par un professeur dépressif, se trouve dans la Cité des Mûriers, considérée comme la plus dure et violente des environs.

Après leur réussite au baccalauréat, les élèves du cours Louis XIV prennent des vacances bien méritées. Four teenage girls — Carmen, Tibby, Bridget, and Lena — are best friends from Bethesda, Maryland, who are about to separate for the summer for the first time in their lives.
