Add to a movie listMy Little Pony: A Very Minty Christmas is a direct-to-DVD animated film produced by SD Entertainment, and released on October 25, 2005 by Paramount Home Entertainment. It marks the first film appearance of the titular toy franchise since their big-screen debut in 1986. The DVD includes a bonus episode Dancing in the Clouds which is first released on video bundled with Star Catcher in 2004.
A Very Minty Christmas was made available on hubworld.com (a successor of Hasbro's MonkeyBarTV website), alongside My Little Pony: The Princess Promenade and My Little Pony Crystal Princess: The Runaway Rainbow but were later removed from the site.
The popularity of Friendship Is Magic has increased demand for reissues of the original My Little Pony titles. Shout! Factory has now begun to produce DVD reissues of some of these titles, including A Very Minty Christmas.
The film made its television debut on Discovery Family on December 13, 2014.
Synopsis
Minty accidentally breaks the "Here Comes Christmas Candy Cane", which apparently guides Santa Claus to Ponyville. To try to make up for doing this, Minty gives each pony one of her socks (she hangs them like stockings on the other ponies' fireplaces). When Pinkie Pie finds out what Minty has done, Minty states that the sock giving is a bad idea, and then decides she should go to the North Pole herself to set things right. Minty is terrible at balloon flying, so the chase is on to save her in the process of saving Christmas.Actors

The Rainbow Celebration is almost near as everyone in Ponyville prepares and awaits the first rainbow of the season. Meanwhile at the magical city of Unicornia, Cheerilee is teaching a young unicorn pony named Rarity about being a Rainbow Princess and her duties to make the First Rainbow of the Season using the magic wand. Rarity is still young and she accidentally uses the wand, which in turn teleports her into the middle of Breezie Blossom. Cheerilee, Brights Brightly and Whistle Wishes venture outside Unicornia in search of her. Rarity befriends the Breezies and they visit Ponyville and later Rarity feels homesick. Pinkie Pie, Minty, Rainbow Dash, Spike and the Breezies help her get home, just in time for the first rainbow of the season.

Bibble is worried that he will embarrass himself and won't belong with his friend's friends, so Elina tells him the story of Mariposa, a butterfly fairy who lives in a far-off palace called Flutterfield, an island kingdom in Fairytopia populated by fairies with butterfly wings. Henna, the jealous butterfly fairy and the attendant of the queen of Flutterfield, has poisoned the queen in an attempt to take over the kingdom. Due to this, the lights are in danger of going out if she succumbs to the poison. These lights protect Flutterfield from the "Skeezites", monsters who eat butterfly fairies and are repellant to light. It is up to Mariposa and her employers/friends, sisters Rayna and Rayla, to find an antidote to save the queen.

Elina, a wingless flower fairy, and her puffball friend Bibble watch their fairy friend Dandelion fly with three pixies. The pixies make fun of Elina for having no wings, but Elina ignores their teasing. Dandelion, however, defends Elina by fluttering her wings so hard that the small pixies are blown away. They later come back to warn Dandelion and Elina to go home "where it's safe". This is so they don't get kidnapped by someone named Laverna (who is already rumored to have kidnapped a fairy named Topaz). Elina thinks that Laverna is a myth, but Dandelion is unsure so she goes home to ask her mother. Elina and Bibble go back to Peony, her flower home.

Barbie stars as Genevieve, one of twelve princesses who live in a castle with their widowed father, King Randolph. The princesses have adventurous and free-spirited natures that are viewed as "unladylike" and "non-proper" by other members of the royal society. This leads King Randolph to summon his cousin, Duchess Rowena, to the castle to help raise the princesses.
