Synopsis
Shun, ciseleur en orfèvrerie, d'un caractère plutôt timide et docile, s'éprend de Nanami, employée dans un peep-show, jeune femme extravertie et anticonformiste. Très inhibé, le jeune homme refuse toute relation sexuelle. Les deux amants se contentent d'échanger leurs propres souvenirs d'adolescents. Mais, ils ne savent comment exprimer leurs sentiments et encore moins ce à quoi ils aspirent...Comments

A middle class woman in Tokyo, Naoko Ishikawa (Sachiko Hidari) lives with her husband in a shining new apartment building on a hill overlooking a slum. As her husband Eiichi (Eiji Okada) becomes more entangled in his life as businessman, Naoko looks for ways to expand her own life even as her husband's life shrinks in scope and intimacy. She loses her sense of security when she becomes acquainted with poverty in her neighborhood. Georgia O'Keeffe (Joan Allen) is a young painter in the 1910s, while Alfred Stieglitz (Jeremy Irons) is New York-based photographer and art impresario, who discovers her works. Spoiled playboy Bob Merrick's (Rock Hudson) reckless behavior causes him to lose control of his speed boat.
