A chancer organises a series of package tours along a route said to have been taken by Napoleon in 1815 when in fact the Emperor never set foot there. The local inhabitants back up his story as they hope to cash in on the tourist boom.
Synopsis
Magnat de la publicité, Edouard Martel a été choisi pour le lancement de la très touristique route Napoléon et une caravane doit semer l'enthousiasme dans les populations. Une fausse manœuvre oblige Martel à substituer au village de Malijai où l'empereur a fait halte, celui de Bourg-sur-Bleone ignoré par Napoléon. Le malin Martel s'y prend avec une telle adresse qu'il convainc tous les habitants du passage du grand homme et que le curé et l'instituteur, plus ou moins réticents, s'inclineront devant le succès de cette aventure moderne.Actors

Marie, une prostituée de Marseille, rend visite, très émue, à son fils Simon qu'elle n'a pas vu depuis longtemps et dont elle a confié la garde à Gilles, un berger de la campagne provençale. Simon, âgé à présent d'une douzaine d'années, idéalise sa mère dont il ignore la profession. Marie, jugeant qu'elle est à présent suffisamment bien installée pour prendre son enfant en charge, le ramène avec elle. Mais après l'euphorie des premiers jours, Simon ne tarde pas à découvrir les activités de sa mère et à déchanter d'autant plus qu'elle s'est amourachée de Paul, un individu douteux et pleutre que Simon se met à détester, ce qui crée des dissensions entre la mère aveuglée par l'amour et le fils, clairvoyant. Afin d'échapper au milieu délétère familial, Simon, attiré par la mer, se met à fréquenter le port et sympathise avec François, un capitaine de marine marchande… Celui-ci, discernant le malaise et l'isolement du gamin, l'embauche comme mousse pendant que Marie va être entraînée au cœur d'un drame à cause de Paul fourvoyé dans une sordide affaire de faux billets.

The film takes place mostly in the waterfront bar of César, Marius's father. Marius works in the bar and his good friend since childhood, Fanny, works outside the bar selling cockles. Marius has a hidden desire to travel to exotic places with the ship crews that depart from the docks of Marseilles. This desire becomes exposed when a rich older man (Panisse) proposes to Fanny and Marius gets jealous. Marius' jealousy of Panisse is the first indication of the secret feelings that he has for her, but much to his surprise, the feelings are reciprocated by Fanny. She confesses that she loves Marius prompting him to reveal his plans of traveling the world to her, noting that being the wife of a man at sea is not a desirable life. After a few nights, it is discovered that they have slept together and Marius's father and Fanny's mother convince him to marry her. Marius becomes noticeably melancholy after proposing to Fanny until a few days later, the date of departure of a boat on which Marius was supposed to crew. Fanny, realizing that Marius is not truly happy being with her, decides to encourage him to leave. She helps distract his father while Marius sneaks onto the boat.

Jules est berger en Provence, qui vit en solitaire sur les hauts plateaux. Pour le sentiment, il s'est arrangé avec une jeune veuve qui habite dans la vallée, Fine, qui vient quelquefois passer la nuit avec lui quand il le désire. Il trouve, un jour au détour d'un sentier, un conteneur d'aviation qu'il prend pour une bombe, lequel, après avoir été percé par les chevrotines de son fusil, laisse apparaître près de deux mètres cubes de billets de banque. Angoissé, ne sachant que faire de tout cet argent, Jules offre aux habitants du village un grand banquet qui attire aussitôt les convoitises et les jalousies de chacun des convives. Après avoir semé le doute puis la terreur avec cet argent, Jules reçoit la visite de deux policiers qui lui expliquent, en raflant les dernières liasses, que ces faux billets étaient en réalité un piège de l'occupant voulant ruiner à la libération l'économie nationale. Le village va pouvoir recommencer une vie sans argent, peut-être plus près de l'amour.

The story takes place in Marseille, where Marius, the son of a barkeeper César, has a romance with Fanny, neighbourhood girl of the fish sales man in the harbor. Marius dreams of sailing away one day and travel the seven seas. Fanny soon discovers she is pregnant of Marius, a shameful position in their community since she's a single mother with a father unable to secure the future of her and her child. She agrees with her mother and father's advice to marry a more prosperous salesman in the harbor, Honoré Panisse, who is 30 years older than she is. A few months after the marriage and the birth of the baby Marius returns and tries to win back Fanny.

Honoré Panisse is dying, cheerfully, with friends, wife, and son at his side. He confesses to the priest in front of his friends; he insists that the doctor be truthful. But, he cannot bring himself to tell his son Césariot that his real father is Marius, the absent son of César, Césariot's godfather. Panisse leaves that to Fanny, the lad's mother. Dissembling that he's off to see a friend, Césariot then seeks Marius, now a mechanic in Toulon. Posing as a journalist, Césariot spends time with Marius and leaves believing tales he is a petty thief. Only after the truth comes out can Marius, Fanny, César, and Césariot step beyond the falsehoods, benign though they may be.

A Japanese minister of defence is traveling to Paris to sign a weapons contract between Japan and France, but first, he is visiting Marseille to view and rate the city police's anti-gang tactics (using fake attacks on him). During the visit, however, he is kidnapped by a group working for the Japanese yakuza. Emilien (Frédéric Diefenthal) is determined to rescue the minister and detective Petra (Emma Sjöberg), his girlfriend who was also kidnapped, and restore the honour of his department. À la veille de Noël dans un établissement scolaire aux classes allant de la primaire au lycée. Le censeur reçoit au parloir les familles qui viennent chercher leurs enfants. Les élèves sont réunis dans la cour où les partants sont appelés par le garçon pour rejoindre leurs parents. Un élève, Villepontoux, qui veut sortir, devance l’appel. Il est orphelin de père et sa mère, qui s’est remariée, préfère le laisser en pension pour les fêtes. Il fait mine de s’en moquer mais le censeur le retrouve en pleurs dans le couloir et tente de le réconforter. Dans la cour, Villepontoux croise le garçon, qui renvoie un ballon qu'il a reçu dans les jambes et fait ainsi tomber le chapeau du surveillant. Celui-ci, croyant Villepontoux coupable, le met au piquet.
