New York, I Love You is a 2008 American romantic comedy-drama anthology consisting of eleven short films, each by a different director. The short films all relate in some way to the subject of love, and are set among the five boroughs of New York City. The film is a sequel of sorts to the 2006 film Paris, je t'aime, which had the same structure, and is the second film in the Cities of Love franchise, created and produced by Emmanuel Benbihy. Unlike Paris, je t'aime, the short films of New York, I Love You all have a unifying thread, of a videographer who films the other characters.
The film stars an ensemble cast, among them Bradley Cooper, Shia LaBeouf, Natalie Portman, Anton Yelchin, Hayden Christensen, Orlando Bloom, Irrfan Khan, Rachel Bilson, Chris Cooper, Andy García, Christina Ricci, John Hurt, Cloris Leachman, Robin Wright Penn, Julie Christie, Maggie Q, Ethan Hawke, James Caan, Shu Qi and Eli Wallach.
New York, I Love You premiered at the 2008 Toronto International Film Festival in September 2008, and was released in the United States on October 16, 2009.
Synopsis
New York, I Love You est, comme pour Paris, je t'aime, un travail collectif de onze courts-métrages, faisant chacun environ dix minutes. Les réalisateurs ayant participé au film ont filmé leur segment dans les cinq boroughs de New York. L'histoire du film débute en 1945, l'année de la fin de la Seconde Guerre mondiale, juste avant la Guerre israélo-arabe de 1948-1949. Une famille juive d'Europe migre vers la Palestine encore mandataire du Royaume-Uni afin d'éviter les persécutions. Le couple de Fania et d'Arieh Oz ne s'entend plus. Tandis qu'Arieh est plutôt confiant pour son avenir, Fania est traumatisée par la guerre et le fait d'avoir dû fuir son pays. Tous les deux ne restent ensemble que grâce à leur fils de 10 ans, Amos. Il découvre la poésie et la littérature selon un certain point de vue, expliqué par sa mère. Au fil du temps, constatant que la nouvelle vie dont elle rêvait ne voit pas le jour, Fania devient de plus en plus triste et finit même par se suicider, laissant à son fils une certaine vision de la littérature qui l'influencera dans ses écrits toute sa vie. L'histoire se termine en 1953, cinq ans après la proclamation de l'État d’Israël, quand Amos, maintenant âgé de 18 ans, s'en va habiter dans un kibboutz.

In 1558, the Roman Catholic Queen Mary (Kathy Burke) dies of a cancerous tumour in her uterus, leaving her Protestant half-sister Elizabeth (Cate Blanchett) as queen. Elizabeth had previously been jailed for a supposed conspiracy to murder Mary but has now been freed for her coronation. The film shows Elizabeth being courted by suitors, including Henry, Duc d'Anjou (Vincent Cassel), the future King Henry III of France and Poland, whom she rejects, and urged by William Cecil, 1st Baron Burghley (Richard Attenborough) to marry, which, as he states, would secure her throne. Instead, she has a secret affair with her childhood sweetheart, Robert Dudley, Earl of Leicester (Joseph Fiennes). The affair is, however, no secret from Cecil, who makes it clear that a monarch has no private life. Elizabeth deals with various threats to her reign, including Thomas Howard, 4th Duke of Norfolk (Christopher Eccleston); her Catholic cousin, Mary, Queen of Scots, who conspires to have her murdered; Mary's mother, Mary of Guise (Fanny Ardant), who brings French troops into Scotland to attack Elizabeth's forces when they invade.

Thirty years after a nuclear apocalypse, Eli (Denzel Washington) travels on foot toward the west coast of the former United States. In Villach in the 13th century, three women are accused of witchcraft by a priest. While one claims to be a witch through persuasion from the church, one doesn't deny it and curses the priest. He orders them hanged and drowned. That done, he urges the guards to pull them back up for a ritual to make sure the so-called witches never come back to life. The guards refuse, claiming they are dead enough. The priest returns late at night to perform the ritual. The third corpse takes on a demonic appearance and kills the priest.

Fegele Abramovich (Christina Ricci), a Russian Jew is separated from her father (Oleg Yankovsky) as a child in 1927.
