Joshua Jacob Marston (born 13 August 1968) is an American screenwriter and film director best known for the film Maria Full of Grace.
Born in California, he graduated from Beverly Hills High School. Marston worked in Paris as an intern for Life, then for ABC News during the Gulf War. He returned to the United States and earned a master's degree in Political science from University of Chicago in 1994 before earning a Master of Fine Arts in film at New York University.
Marston also directed an episode of Six Feet Under, and Episode 7 of The Newsroom in 2012. Marston directed a segment of the collective film New York, I Love You.
His 2011 film The Forgiveness of Blood premiered in competition at the 61st Berlin International Film Festival and competed for the Golden Bear. Along with Andamion Murataj, Marston won the Silver Bear for Best Script.

Jenn, a yoga instructor, and Matt, a comic book store worker, are best friends from college who are now single and in their 30s. In agreement with a pact they made in their youth, the two decide to have a baby ("gayby") together, even though Jenn is straight and Matt is gay. Jenn's grandmother set her up with a trust fund for if she ever had a child, so Jenn is confident that she and Matt will have the finances to have one. However, Jenn states that she wants to have a baby through natural conception, so the two begin awkwardly having sex. Meanwhile, Jenn is concerned with the stunted life she is living, treated as an underling at her yoga studio. Matt is recovering from a devastating break up with his partner of six years, Tom, who is a rising comic book publisher. Matt finds difficulty in getting back into the dating game and finds himself constantly avoiding awkward run-ins with Tom.
