Nobody Home is a 1919 American silent film starring Dorothy Gish and Ralph Graves. "Rudolph Valentine" (a pre-stardom Rudolph Valentino) had an early role. Its working title was Out of Luck.

This is now considered to be a lost film.

Synopsis

A young woman (Gish) is superstitious, so she cannot make a move or a decision without the approval of the cards or the stars. Pursued romantically by two men, one virtuous, the other villainous, the cards point her toward the villain.

Jane, a waitress at a small town Maine hotel, assumes guardianship of a baby whose mother has died. The baby's rakish father, Dr. Sheldon, conspires to steal prize money won by Jane after she enters the child in a baby show. Jane manages to hold the doctor and his accomplice at bay until help arrives, then uses the prize money to help the war effort by purchasing Liberty Bonds and donating the rest to the Red Cross.

Gish plays Janice, a wealthy girl whose fortune has been entrusted to two trust company vice presidents (the "official fathers" of the title). Confused over who she prefers, she retracts her acceptance of both proposals and becomes engaged to a bank teller. When the true motives of her three would-be suitors come to light, Janice makes the right decision about who to marry.
