In 2011, the film was screened at the Norwegian International Film Festival, where Skjoldbjærg won the award for best director and screenwriter Christopher Grøndahl won the award for best original screenplay.
Synopsis
Dans la matinée du 5 avril 2004, la ville de Stavanger est le théâtre du plus spectaculaire braquage de l'histoire de Norvège, où, durant 20 minutes, 11 hommes muni d'un arsenal d'armes de guerre dérobent 51 millions de couronnes (environ 10 millions de dollars) dont 37 n'ont jamais été retrouvés. The entire film takes place over the course of three days. Max, a decent and principled gangster, has dinner at Madame Bouche's restaurant, a hangout for criminals, with his longtime associate Riton, their burlesque-dancer girlfriends, and his protege Marco. A newspaper is seen to mention eight bars of stolen gold. The group goes to Pierrot's nightclub, where the girls perform. Max gets Marco a job as a drug dealer working for Pierrot. A man calling himself Ryder hijacks Pelham 123, a New York City Subway 6 train that departed from Pelham Bay Park station at 1:23 p.m. Ryder is accompanied by three other heavily armed men; Bashkim, Emri, and former train operator Phil Ramos. They uncouple the front car from the rest of the train and take the passengers hostage. MTA employee Walter Garber is working the Rail Control Center as a train dispatcher and receives a ransom call from Ryder, who demands $10 million in cash be paid within 60 minutes.
