Nua Bou (Odia: ନୂଆ ବୋଉ) is a 1962 Indian Oriya film directed by Prabhat Mukherjee, which presents the sociocultural scenario of rural village life in India in the 1970s.
Synopsis
Sura Babu lives with his wife Parbati, brother Raju & son Debi. Parbati loves Rabi more than his own son. Parbati falls ill and Raju comes to Puri believing that Lord Jaganath's prasad can cure Parbati and brings prasad.The illness continues and native doctor Das is called in. Parbati gradually cured in. Later Parbati's mother and sister Champa come to stay with her. parbati's mother is not well disposed towards mischievous Raju and tries to influence Parbati against him. Her efforts fail as Champa take side of Raju. Dr Das's assistant Mukund and doctor Rabi, a new comer to the village compete for Champa's hand. Dr Das makes the proposal to Sura Babu on behalf of Mukund for Champa's hand. Sura agrees with a misunderstand that Doctor Das himself wants to marry Champa. In the meantime Mukund decided that he is not suitable for Champa. On the marriage day sura Babu forces Dr. Das to marry Champa. At the last moment Raju is found in bridal attire.Mukund comes forward and explain that Champa is in love with Dr.Actors

Sania (Prashant Nanda) lives with his ailing mother and friend Makara in village. They are fisherman by profession. One day they find a girls named Manika (Mahasweta Roy) in the river and rescues her. Sania brings the girls to his home and they look after the girl. After Manika gets well Sania & Makara decides to return Manika to their parents. When they reaches Manika's village, Manika/s parents refuses to return her back as she lives with the lower cast people for some days. As no other way out, Sania takes Manika to his home. Manika falls in love with Sania. But Sania's heart doesn't allow him to accept the Manka's offer as Manika belongs to a higher caste. Sania, in the meantime tries to find out suitable match for Manika and finds a docter, who comes to the village for the treatment for plague diseases as the village effected by plague. The doctor agrees to marry Manika and leaves the town to get his family's approval. But days passes away, the doctor doesn't return. All the villagers in the village complains of Sania and Manika leaving together. Manika doesn't bear all the blames made by the villager and vanishes. Sanu can not control himself and become insane.

Prasanna Choudhury is famous doctor and lives in Puri with his sister Anuaradha and brother Ashok. One day while traveling with her brother Ashok in sea shore, Anuradha finds a man lying unconsciousness in the tides. She rescues the man with the help of Ashok and bring him to her home. With the treatment of doctor Prasanna and timely nursing of Anuradha, the man named Debabrata goes well. In the meantime Anuradha and Debabrata fall in love. Anuradha feels betrayed but as a devoted wife forgets everything and tries to adjust with the family. Gradually she takes care Debrabrat's family and also his son. Debabrata's sister Bhanu can't accept Anuradha and creates misunderstanding between wife and husband. At last biased Debabrata leaves the house with his son ignoring his wife Anuradha. But Anuradha doesn't lose hope. With her determination, sacrifice and devotion, the family unites at last.
