Padaharella Vayasu (Telugu: పదహారేళ్ళ వయసు) is a 1978 Telugu film starring Sridevi Kapoor, Chandra Mohan, and Mohan Babu. Directed by K. Raghavendra Rao, it is a remake of the Tamil Super hit 16 Vayathinile (1977) which starred Kamal Hassan, Rajinikanth and Sridevi.

Synopsis

This film revolves around a 16-year-old girl, Malli (Sridevi), filled with ambitions of becoming a teacher. She is an attractive, intelligent woman living in a small society and experiences ripe love when seeing the new veterinarian who has come to visit. Many are impressed by this charming young fellow who has entered the village. He seems to be a wealthy, prosperous man and soon develops a relationship with Malli. Malli, who is deeply in love, sacrifices her opportunity to study in the teaching college course to spend time with him. But his intentions are not pure and he dumps Malli when she refuses to consummate their relationship.

Chiru acted as a villain in this Sobhan-Sridevi starrer under the direction of KRR for the first time in his career. Sobhan babu and sridevi, who are in love with each other plan to marry soon. Chiru is a local rowdysheeter in their area who has a relationship with sridevi’s twin sister(dual role). He develops personal grudge against them.Oneday, when sobhan and sridevi are about to get married in a temple,chiru spots her alone waiting for sobhan and he rapes her. Unable to bear this humiliation, she commits suicide and before she dies, sobhan reaches there and he vows to take revenge. In the end, sobhan kills chiru and is sentenced to death, and we are shown that sobhan meets sridevi in heaven.
