Synopsis
Zhang Chi (Shen Teng ), un ancien pilote de course reconverti en cuisinier, est nostalgique de son ancienne vie. Face à la nouvelle génération de pilote, il décide de reprendre le volant. En service en mer Rouge, une flotte de patrouille de la Marine chinoise reçoit un appel de détresse d'un cargo attaqué par des pirates somaliens qui menacent les passagers et les marins chinois présents à bord. After stealing Abraham Lincoln's stovepipe hat from a Civil War reenactment and then being subsequently dumped by their unseen boss "Mr M", thieves Corey Mahoney (Rodney Rowland) and Terrence Christian (Kevin Patrick Walls) are at a loss until they are hired by the mysterious Pascal (Brad Dourif). His proposition is for them to acquire the Rock of Lazarus, an ancient relic capable of returning souls back to Earth. Advertising company staff Mo Tak-fai and his friend Lai Chi are going to mainland China for a business trip during which Chi smuggled some relics which leads them being chased by the police and they strayed into a cave. Chi was bitten by a poisonous snake in the cave but was saved by medicine from hero Lung Kim-fei from centuries ago and shares it with Tak-fai. Not only does the medicine detoxifies Chi, it also gave Tak-fai and Chi internal strengths. There, they also rescue Princess Wan-lo and her maid Siu-man who were frozen for eight hundred years from the Yuan Dynasty while also allowing two-hundred-year-old evil martial arts expert Tin-chan escape.

Brothers Walter (Josh Hutcherson) and Danny (Jonah Bobo) can never seem to get along with each other, or with their older teen-aged sister, Lisa (Kristen Stewart). While staying at their divorced father's home while he is away at work and Lisa is asleep, the boys discover an old clockwork-driven space-themed board game called "Zathura" in the basement. The two begin to play the game, the goal to be the first to reach the final space named Zathura. During each turn, the game provides a card with instructions, but the two quickly realize the cards affect reality, starting with a meteor shower. They soon discover the house is floating on a small rock in outer space. Meanwhile, Lisa looks out the window, and believing it is merely dark, goes to shower for her date. When the boys try to warn Lisa about what has happened, they find she is frozen in cryonic sleep as a result of one of the cards. The brothers realize that the only way to end the game and hopefully return to Earth is to reach the end space of Zathura.

Left alone with a governess one snowy afternoon (Alice's sister does not appear in this version), Alice is supremely bored. Drummond is hired after a series of inexplicable accidents befall the people and companies who are responsible for developing the world's first supersonic airliner, the SST1.
