Add to a movie listPinay Pie is a 2003 Filipino comedy film, directed by award-winning multi-genre director Jose Javier Reyes. The film was released to Philippine theaters on September 3, 2003. It stars Joyce Jimenez, Assunta De Rossi and Ai-Ai de las Alas on the lead roles. It is a film about girl power. De las Alas plays Yolly, an aging woman who searches for the man of her dreams. De Rossi plays Love, a beautiful young lady who wants to be famous, and Jimenez plays Karen, an overly hardworking woman.
The film's producer, Star Cinema Productions Inc. owned by ABS-CBN, borrowed actors Brad Turvey and Edward Mendez, from rival TV network, GMA-7 Artist Center. Due to the strong box-office result of Ang Tanging Ina (2003), the scenes of Ai-Ai de las Alas in the film were extended.
Ai-Ai Delas Alas scenes were extended at the rest of the scene then Joyce Jimenez and Assunta De Rossi in the first ladder of the movie.
Synopsis
The film tells a funny story about three fantastic and fearless female friends. Karen (Joyce Jimenez) is the smart and fashionable one among the three. She works for a girls magazine, and later catches her boyfriend, Artie (Rafael Rosell), in bed with another woman, Greta (Jenny Miller). Love (Assunta De Rossi) is the cousin of Karen. She works in the cosmetics section of a department store, and dreams of becoming a beauty queen someday, thus, making her a regular contestant of beauty competitions. Yolly (Ai-Ai de las Alas) is the businesswoman of the group. She is into the buy and sell business, wherein she buys clothes from ukay-ukay only to sell them as brand new and original. The story runs when Love joins the Diyosa ng Kagandahan 2003 contest, where they find out that her roommate, Greta, is the new girlfriend of Karen's philandering boyfriend, Artie, and the kinakapatid of Yolly's boyfriend policeman, SPO Pablito (Carlos Agassi), who dumped her. They also see this girl cuddling up with one of the judges of the contest, George Collins (Carlo Maceda). Karen, Love and Yolly tire out all their efforts for Love to win the contest and teach their ex-boyfriends a valuable lesson.Actors

Esmeralda “Esme” Fajardo, a young, spirited, and ultra-liberal teenager who lives in Cebu goes to Manila to study for college, only to fall in love with a guy named Waldo, a beguiling and charming gentleman (Eddie Gutierrez) who seemingly has the same feelings for her. She is turned ecstatic upon hearing that her daughter Abby is coming back to the Philippines as a liberal New Yorker. Esme, now having 2 sons named Boboy and Pipo, both of which were born from two different fathers, welcomes her daughter to her real family. This then leads to violent, often humorous confrontations with other people around Esme and her family, ranging from one of her son's "secret" girlfriend, to her rival neighbor. A couple of months later, after her constant battles with other people finally tears her family apart, but is then reunited when she develops a heart attack -forcing her sons and daughter to forgive their mother for all the trouble she has caused. After several weeks in the hospital, Esme, now fully recovered, though still brash, decides to meet her long lost husband once more. The film ends 3 months later, Abbey is in the United States once again, only to be surprised by her mother, who subsequently follows her and plans to live with her in New York.

They are everyday women who all live in a world where men rule business and women rule the office.
