Produced by Roger Corman for the Showtime network, the film is a remake of the 1978 film Piranha, directed by Joe Dante and is also Mila Kunis' debut role.
Synopsis
Piranha stars William Katt as Paul Grogan, Alexandra Paul as Maggie, Soleil Moon Frye as the camp counselor Laura, Mila Kunis as Susie (Paul's daughter), Leland Orser as director Terry Wechsler, and Darleen Carr as Dr. Leticia Baines (a gender-reversed role previously essayed by Kevin McCarthy in the original) as the doctor experimenting upon the killer fish. A private investigator, Maggie McNamara (Alexandra Paul), is hired by wealthy resort owner J.R. Randolph (Monte Markham) to find his missing niece. During her search she and local resident Paul Grogan (William Katt) stumble upon a deserted Army research facility and unwittingly release the Piranha into the river.Actors

At Aquatica, a remote former submarine refueling facility converted into a laboratory, a team of scientists is searching for a cure for Alzheimer's disease. Fluids from the brain tissue of three Mako sharks are being harvested as a cure for Alzheimer's. Unknown to the other scientists, Dr. Susan McAlester (Saffron Burrows) has violated the code of ethics and has genetically engineered the sharks to increase their brain size, but this has the side effect of making the sharks smarter and more dangerous.

Melanie Daniels (Tippi Hedren), a young socialite, meets lawyer Mitch Brenner (Rod Taylor) in a San Francisco bird shop. He wants to purchase a pair of lovebirds for his sister's eleventh birthday, but the shop has none. He recognizes her from a previous encounter, but she does not remember him, so he plays a prank by pretending to mistake her for a salesperson. On Amity Island, Chief Martin Brody (Roy Scheider), the hero of two previous shark attacks, has died from a heart attack. His wife, Ellen (Lorraine Gary), attributes it to the fear of sharks. In Romania, a female anaconda and a male anaconda captured, are being held in a genetic research facility, Wexel Hall for experimentation. The research project is led by Dr. Amanda Hayes (Crystal Allen) and funded by J.D. Murdoch (John Rhys-Davies), a well-known industrialist. While visiting the facility, Murdoch agitates the male anaconda with a large flashlight, and has it gassed to calm it down. However, as Murdoch, his assistant Pinkus (Ryan McCluskey) and a scientist leave, the anaconda breaks through his enclosure's wall. As it escapes, it kills many of the people working in the lab, though Cupboard escapes the destruction. In looking through the facility, Amanda and another researcher realize that the second (Queen) anaconda has also escaped. Murdoch calls in a team of animal hunters, led by Hammett (David Hasselhoff), to capture both snakes. Amanda and Pinkus go with them. At a small farm in the middle of the woods, the owner is eaten alive by one of the snakes.
