Pocket Maar (Hindi: पॉकेटमार ; translation: Pick-Pocket) is a Bollywood film of 1974 Hindi film directed by Ramesh Lakhanpal. The film stars Dharmendra, Saira Banu, Prem Chopra, Mehmood and Nasir Hussain. The films music is by Laxmikant Pyarelal.

Synopsis

Mr. Rai is a big businessman. Asha, Mr. Rai's Grand Daughter. She loves Madan and marry with her. Mr. Rai don't know anything about Madan. If they say yes to the happiness of granddaughter. Shankar is a pick-pocket. Asha introduces Shankar to everyone as Madan. Who is the real Madan? Asha to do that?

Ajay (Jeetendra) & Vijay (Dharmendra) are thieves and best friends who are in jail under punishment, one day they meets a guy Manohar who is going to be hanged next day. Manohar wants to meet Ajay & Vijay as his last wish and tells them his story that his sister Radha was kidnapped by a Taxi driver and raped by a rich house guy Dinesh Lal (Shakthi Kapoor). He, his elder brother Dhanny Lal (Prem Chopra), his friend Som Lal (Annupam Kher) and Inspector Emaandar (Kader Khan) trapped him in the murder case of Taxi driver and from that his parents are also missing; Ajay & Vijay promises Manohar that they will save him and postpones his hanging by breaking his leg. Next day when they releases from jail starts their trails to protect Manohar, first of all they traps Inspector Emaandar and keeps him in their grip with his help Vijay joins as body guard for Dinesh and Ajay traps Dhanny Lal’s daughter Rani (Bhanu Priya) into his love. Vijay loves Emaandar’s daughter Inspector Shila (Anita Raj). In this process they come to know Manohar’s parents are kidnapped by Dhanny Lal & Som Lal only because his father Jagan Nath (Shreeram Lagoo) knows a secret of a treasure. Ajay recognizes that Manohar’s parents are only his parents from whom he was separated in childhood and Vijay recognizes that Jagan Nath as killer of his parents there arises a clash between Ajay & Vijay which cams down after knowing the truth that real culprit was Som Lal who killed Vijay’s parents by wearing mask of Jagan Nath. Finally Ajay & Vijay sees end of all culprits, protects the treasure and saves Manohar from hanging.

The Munim (Clerk) in Ranimaa's family lives with his son, Kaushal and daughter, Madhavi. After he passes away, Ranimaa brings up both children as her own, along with her only son, Rajesh. Years later, Rajesh has grown up and is of marriageable age. He meets with beautiful Bhanu Saxena and both fall in love with each other. Shortly thereafter, in a boating accident, Kaushal passes away, leaving behind a devastated Madhavi, Rajesh, who blames himself for his death, and Ranimaa. A few months later, Rajesh gets married to Bhanu and she moves in with them. Bhanu dislikes Madhavi and would like her out of the way, she goes to the extent of accusing her of having an affair with her husband. Under pressure, Madhavi goes to kill herself, and is rescued by a young man named Moti. Rajesh likes Moti and would like him to marry Madhavi, to which he agrees. After the marriage, Madhavi bids adieu to Ranimaa, and Rajesh, and moves in with Moti. What Madhavi does not know that Moti had an agenda and an ulterior motive for marrying her, and it looks like she has been dumped from the frying pan into the fire.

This is the story of an eccentric young man, Ashok (Dharmendra) who believes in doing good without worrying about the consequences. This does not find any favor with his sister-in-law Sarla (Sulochana), and she decides to leave him. But he persuades her to come back, and he decides to relocate and not cause any more trouble for Sarla. On his way he has a skirmish with the a princess Rajkumari Seema (Hema Malini) who he teaches a lesson to respect the poor and food grown in the fields. When he arrives in the city, due to his misfortune, he lands a job at a factory run by the Rajkumari, and immediately gets in to the bad books of Prem (Prem Chopra) to whom the Rajkumari is engaged to be married. The Rajkumari also decides to teach him a lesson for the humiliation she suffered at his hands. But things work out differently, and Ashok ends up saving the life of the Rajkumari, and she falls in love with him. This jeopardizes the plans that Rajkumari's uncle (Ajit) has for her and her bethrothed Prem, and a horrifying scheme is concocted to stop the love and possible future relationship of Rajkumari and Ashok.
