Synopsis
Joanna et Ben Maxwell veulent adopter un enfant. Mais le service d'adoption les informe que leur dossier de demande a été refusé. Lydia Newman, qui travaille pour ce service, vient, pourtant, leur faire une offre unique : elle leur propose d'adopter une petite fille, Piper Rose, qui a été abandonnée par sa mère, qui est en prison. Les Maxwell acceptent. L'arrivée de Piper dans leur famille n'est pas sans perturber leur équilibre. Le fils de Ben, Dylan, prend à partie Joanna et Ben, qu'il accuse de faire du favoritisme. Piper s'adapte facilement à sa nouvelle vie, mais les apparitions étranges d'une jeune femme que Piper appelle maman inquiètent Joanna.Actors

Paul and Jessie Duncan (Greg Kinnear and Rebecca Romijn) are a happily married couple who have an eight-year-old son named Adam (Cameron Bright). The day after his eighth birthday, when fetching a basketball he was given into the street, Adam is killed in a collision. Mercenary thief Laure Ash (Rebecca Romijn) participates in a diamond heist in Cannes. The film opens up with Wesley Deeds (Tyler Perry), the rich entrepreneur of the family-owned Deeds Corporation, getting dressed for work.
