The film is the story of a group of friends brought together for a four day hike in the Montana wilderness by one their number, Lucy (Missi Pyle). She is celebrating losing hundreds of pounds of weight after gastric bypass surgery. However, as she quickly realizes while she has become thin and happy, her friends are miserable. The film's title is derived from this realization.

Synopsis
The film begins with a voice-over by Lucy (Missi Pyle) discussing calling her friend Becky (Melissa McCarthy) and insinuating she is dying. She asks Becky to rally all of the women's college friends for one final trip to see Lucy in Montana.Actors

In 1963 Jackson, Mississippi, Aibileen Clark (Viola Davis) is a black maid spending her life raising white children after the death of her only son from an industrial accident. She works for the Leefolt family, principally taking care of the children of Elizabeth Leefolt, a young woman gripped with postpartum depression who refuses to acknowledge her daughter except when disciplining her. Aibileen's best friend is Minny Jackson (Octavia Spencer), an outspoken black maid who has long worked for Hilly Holbrook's (Bryce Dallas Howard) mother, Mrs. Walters (Sissy Spacek), to the point that they are very comfortable with each other. Sue Ann vit seule dans une petite ville de l’Ohio. Un jour, Maggie, une adolescente ayant récemment emménagé dans le coin, lui demande un petit service. Lamb Mannerhelm (Julianne Hough) goes to speak at her family's church in Montana one year after surviving a plane crash, which has left her with severe burns all over her body. While everyone is expecting her to make some big announcement, she instead publicly denounces her belief in God, causing a major uproar in the church.
