Lors d'une interview, Steve Franks, créateur de la série, explique qu'il a pour projet de réaliser cinq suites sous forme de téléfilm. Après ce téléfilm, les intrigues se poursuivront dans Psych: The Movie 2 diffusé fin 2019.
Synopsis
Trois ans plus tard, Shawn, Gus et Juliet O'Hara ont déménagé à San Francisco et ont ouvert une agence de Détective privé, intitulée « Psychphransisco ». Après que le partenaire de Juliet, Sam, a été abattu, l'équipe tente de découvrir qui est l'assassin. De plus, alors qu'une mystérieuse organisation fait chanter Juliet (en insinuant qu'elle est impliquée dans une affaire illégale), Shawn refuse de se marier jusqu'à ce qu'il retrouve la bague de fiançailles volée de sa grand-mère. Tandis que Gus est poursuivi par une jolie femme qui utilise ses charmes pour arriver à ses fins. Pendant qu'Iris, la fille du chef Vick, entretient des relations douteuses avec un groupe d'individus peu recommandable.Actors

Max Fleming is a grad student who developed a powerful cloning machine for the egotistical Dr. Jonas who steals all the credit and leaves his student to toil in obscurity. One day, Max meets Kate Carson, a young and attractive magazine reporter doing a story on the cloning research at the university. During the interview, Kate accidentally cuts herself, and a few drops of her blood get on one of the cloning samples. Later that night, Max runs a test of the machine, and to his surprise he ends up with a replicant of Kate, which he names Repli-Kate.

The story begins with the discovery of an emerging fashion stylist's dead body. Angie Woods, a stylist recognized for succeeding with difficult rejuvenation jobs, is found dead with a razor in her hand. Investigators suggest that Woods committed suicide because of the unattractive hairstyle she was wearing. Smithsonian (Maggie Lawson), a fashion columnist and amateur private investigator, is an acquaintance of Woods and suspects something more sinister; she believes that a notable client of Woods, a congressional staffer with a salacious web site, is somehow implicated. Detective Vic Donovan (Victor Webster) is assigned to the case. This causes complications due to his prior romantic affair with Smithsonian.

At a Los Angeles party, Harry Lockhart recounts recent events. Fleeing a botched burglary, Harry's friend is shot, forcing Harry to evade police by ducking into an audition. Malcolm Turner (Martin Lawrence) has been assigned a desk job in public relations as an FBI agent, since he wants to live with his new wife, Sherry Pierce (Nia Long), during her delivery for the couple's new baby boy. Meanwhile, an incident occurs in Orange County, California, where Malcolm's old friend, Doug Hudson (Kirk B.R. Woller), has been killed while he was going undercover. FBI agent Kevin Keneally (Zachary Levi) is doing surveillance on a former U.S. Army military intelligence specialist named Tom Fuller (Mark Moses), who has since retired and is working for a private corporation called National Agenda Software. The FBI has soon discovered that Tom is developing a computer worm which will create backdoors into the databases of all the branches of the U.S. government. Affected by his friend's death, Malcolm asks FBI chief, Crawford (Dan Lauria), to put him on the case, but Crawford refuses and tells him to stay away for safety analysis. By eavesdropping via the webcam, Malcolm finds out that the FBI is sending one of the agents to infiltrate Fuller's house as a nanny. Giving Sherry the pretext of attending a safety conference in Phoenix, Arizona, Malcolm leaves for Orange County and takes the "Big Momma" costume with him.

During a benefit concert in Paris, France, David Seville (Jason Lee) is injured. Having to recuperate there, Dave asks his aunt (Kathryn Joosten) to look after the Chipmunks, Alvin (Justin Long), Simon (Matthew Gray Gubler) and Theodore (Jesse McCartney). Charlie Wright's (Aidan Quinn) business empire is revealed to be a Ponzi scheme, having taken as much as eleven billion from his clients. Leaving his office after hearing about his punishment, Wright is intercepted by FBI Agent Hobbs (Mario Van Peebles), who is unable to arrest Wright as at the moment there is not a warrant. Stalling time, Hobbs gets his warrant and Hobbs' partner Jimmy (Jordan Belfi) intercepts Wright as he pulls out of the office garage. Looking inside the car, Hobbs is dismayed to find that Wright is gone. The ensuing investigation leaves few clues as to where Wright fled.
