Raa is a 2001 Telugu film starring Upendra and Priyanka Upendra in the lead roles. The film was directed by KS Nageswara Rao and produced by Nallamalupu Bujji and has music composed by Gurukiran. The film's lead couple Upendra and Priyanka Upendra later married each other.

Synopsis

Sri (Upendra) is a playboy. All he does is to seduce the girls into his bed and leave them frustrated by doing nothing. He is a woman hater and he has a few strong reasons to be one. After encounters with loads of girls, he meets Shanthi (Priyanka Upendra). Shanthi is a tough nut to crack and she always gives him retorts by not getting attracted to him. The entire film revolves around how Sri tries to seduce Shanthi and how she gives a slip to Sri and make him beg for more. In the final scene it is revealed that Shanthi has a cousin sister (Dhamini) who was cheated by Sri in the past. And it ends with Sri marrying that girl.

Venakteswarlu alias Venky (Venkatesh) comes to the house of Murthy (Prakash Raj) on recommendation of his father Sekhar (Chandra Mohan) who is a childhood friend of Murthy. Nandini alias Nandu (Arti Agarwal) is the daughter of Murthy. Venky enters that place when Nandu is about to get engaged to a software professional from the USA. Soon, Venky bonds with everyone from Murthy's family. Murthy helps Venky secure a job. The relationship between Venky and Nandu starts with hatred and turns into friendship. Nandu confessess her love for Venky to him. Venky, who does not want to spoil the relationship between their parents, decides to leave the house. But Murthy goes to the railway station and talks to Venky, which causes Venky to return. On his return, Nandu stops speaking to him. When Venky accompanies Nandu and Pinky (Nandu's cousin) to Nandu's friend Asha's wedding, sparks fly between them.Even though Venky also is in love with Nandu, he does not express it and pretends to not have feelings for Nandu.When they get back, its time for Nandu's wedding! Venky takes the onus of running the show of marriage. The demure Nandu is shattered.Circumstances lead to everyone finding out about Venky and Nandu. What follows, and how Nandu and Venky end up together forms the climax of the story.

Pralay (Prosenjit Chatterjee), an orphan, is given shelter by Kaka Babu (Rajatava Dutt), just like the latter had given to the brother- sister orphans, Mainak (Tota Ray Chowdhury) and Khushi (Barsa Priyadarshini). The three grew up like family members. When they grow up, Pranay falls in love with Chandni(Priyanka Trivedi), the daughter of Tridib Babu (Mrinal Mukherjee), the local don. Pralay and Mainak often clash with Tridib’s men and always teach them a lesson. The entry of Sangeeta (Namrata Thapa) creates a misunderstanding between the two, as Mainak has a crush for her, but he comes to know that Sangeeta loves Pralay. Siddhartha is a college-mate of Khushi. He was not getting any scope of conveying his love for her. Ultimately he joins as manager in the Mainak-Pralay company. But due to some misunderstanding Sangeeta has an impression that Pralay would marry her and Mainak was under impression that Pralay had chosen Chandni as his match. The comedy of errors continues till the entire confusion is cleared.
