Principal photography began on 13 May 2013 in Hyderabad. The film's "talkie part" was completed on 24 December 2013, with the entire shoot completed on 22 February 2014. The film had a worldwide release on 11 April 2014 The dubbed Malayalam version of the film titled Lucky: The Racer released on 25 April 2014. It was also dubbed into Hindi as Main Hoon Lucky: the Racer. Upon release, the film received positive reviews from critics, eventually becoming the fifth highest grossing Telugu film of all time. and became the highest grosser of 2014 as it collected around ₹1.089 billion (US$16 million) with a distributor's share of ₹59.4 crore (US$9 0 million). It won the Filmfare Awards for Best Actor, Best Actress and Best Playback Singer - Male.
Race gurram released in 1150 theatres worldwide and it Collected ₹1.09 billion (US$16 million) in its lifetime.Race Gurram is also the highest grossing Telugu film of 2014. beating Yevadu and eventually went on to become the fifth highest grossing Telugu film of All Time.
Synopsis
Ram (Shaam) and Lakshman aka Lucky (Allu Arjun) are brothers and are polar opposites in nature. While the former is an assistant commissioner of police trying to put factionist turned politician Shiva Reddy (Ravi Kishan) behind the bars, Lucky is a happy-go-lucky guy aiming for a visa to the U.S.A and is seen "connected" to a tea-shop owner(M.S.Narayana) who is addressed as "Babai" by Lucky.Lucky's mother wishes to see Ram and Lucky united. Shiva Reddy kills Sameer, a sincere ACP who happens to be Ram's friend and Sameer's father (Paruchuri Venkateswara Rao) wants to stop Shiva Reddy from contesting in the elections and eventually get him arrested.Actors

Tony (N. T. Rama Rao Jr) does anything for money. When Tony went to Kashmir he met a young girl named Niharika (Tamannaah) while being kidnapped by terrorists. He falls in love with her and then rescues her. But Tony found out that Niharika was already engaged to Rakesh. Rakesh is a goon (and the minister's son) but Niharika doesn't know that. When Niharika found out that he was a goon, she dumped him. And she also came to know that she is in love with Tony. Later on Tony kills Rakesh and captures his son DSP Jr.(Sai). Later on when Tony, Niharika, and Chitra (Payal Ghosh) go to the temple, Chitra sees Tony killing someone. And then there is a flashback about how he and Niharika met before but she lost her memory. That happened because Niharika's brother was an undercover cop and when goons found out they killed the whole family. The only one who survived was Niharika but she had a bullet in her head. The doctors said that she would lose her memory soon. So, she tells Tony to kill the people who killed her family because she had seen Tony beating up a bunch of people. In the end tony kills all the goons who killed Niharika's family.

Kalyan Krishna (Shaam) comes to meet his old friend, Kalyan (Ravi Teja), who is now married to Naina (Ileana), settled in Virginia has become very rich and is still looking for a kick in life. When Krishna asks Kalyan about his son, Kalyan gets angry and says his son is worse than him. Robin Hood (Ravi Teja), is Kalyan's son and despite his father saying, Robin looks for "comfort" more than Kick. Robin arrives in India and stays in the rented house of Pandit Ravi Teja (Brahmanandam), but Pandit is continuously tortured by Robin. Robin also challenges Durga that he will get back his land without taking out a hand on him.

A love affair between Thamarai (Kushboo) and her maternal uncle Nellaiyankondan (Jayaram) is badly received by their family, especially since he is not financially well off.
