Raja Bakthi (Tamil: ராஜ பக்தி; English: Loyalty To Crown) is a 1960 Tamil historical fiction epic film written by V. C. Gopal Rathnam and directed by K. Vembu. The film starred Sivaji Ganesan, Vyjayanthimala and P. Bhanumathi in the lead with T. S. Balaiah, Padmini, Pandari Bai, M. N. Nambiar, E. V. Saroja and Stunt Somu as the ensemble cast, and was produced by P. Rajamanickam Chettiyar of Nandhi Pictures. The films music was composed by G. Govindarajulu Naidu and was filmed by R. Sampath. The film is about an ambitious Queen makes an unsuccessful attempt to rule her country by eliminating the King and Prince with the help of her Army Commander.

Synopsis

The film is about an ambitious Queen makes an unsuccessful attempt to rule her country by eliminating the King and Prince with the help of her Army Commander. General Vikranthan rescues the young prince and plans to retake the throne from the usurper and place the rightful heir on it.

Swaroop Singh (O. A. K. Thevar) won the respect and loyalty of the people of Senji during his rule where Hindus and Muslims lived in peace and prosperity. A son was born to Swaroop Singh and his wife Rambai (Rushyendramani), whom they named Tej Singh pronounced as Desingu (MGR) in Tamil. Swaroop Singh has a secret wife called Jaan Bibi (Lakshmiprabha), and they have a son called Dawood Khan (MGR) who was a little older than Desingu. Fearing that Dawood might pose a threat to the succession of the throne in years to come, on the advice of his commander and close confidant Yusuf Khan (T. K. Ramachandran), Swaroop Singh persuades Jaan Bibi to leave Senji, taking little Dawood with her. Desingu who has integrity and courage grows up with his childhood friend, another brave young man called Mohammed Khan (S. S. Rajendran), and two are always inseparable.

Ultimately as it always happens in movies, the truth is revealed, the killers are exposed, the parted couples and the young lovers are united, and all's well that ends well.
