Red Planet Mars is a 1952 science fiction film released by United Artists based on a 1932 play Red Planet written by John L. Balderston and John Hoare. It starred Peter Graves and Andrea King and was directed by art director Harry Horner in his directorial debut.
Synopsis
An American astronomer obtains images of Mars suggesting large-scale environmental changes are occurring at a pace that can only be accomplished by intelligent beings with advanced technology. At the same time a colleague claims to have been contacting Mars by radio, using technology stolen from the Nazis after World War II. He communicates first through an exchange of mathematical concepts, like the value of pi, and then through answers to specific questions about Martian life. The transmissions claim that Mars is a utopia fueled by nuclear power, which has led to great technological advancement and the elimination of scarcity, but that there is no fear of nuclear war.Actors

The film was essentially a reproduction of the stage revue with a thin plot added. This involved a producer and performer (Ronny Graham) in financial trouble on opening night. A wealthy Texan, whose daughter is in the show, offers to help out on the condition that he finds the show to be of high-enough quality and commercial potential to warrant the investment. Meanwhile, Graham locks a bill collector in a dressing room until the show is finished and he can collect the money.

Dr. Tom Anderson (Lee Van Cleef), an embittered scientist, has made contact with Zontar, a Venusian creature, while using his radio transmitter. In the year 2092, Nemo Nobody is a 117-year-old man, the last mortal on Earth. Humanity has conquered mortality through the endless renewal of cells, living in a shining future accompanied by their stem cell compatible pigs. The world watches in fascination as Mr. Nobody edges towards death, curious to know of life before quasi-immortality. Nemo says that he remembers nothing about his past and a psychiatrist, Dr. Feldheim, tries to make him recall memories through hypnosis while other memories are told to a journalist. Nemo spits out contradictory pieces as he is prodded, and no one is sure what happened and what did not. He is an enigma, often thinking that he is only 34 years old with no traceable record of his life. He recounts his life at three primary points: at age nine when his parents divorce, at age fifteen when he fell in love, and at age thirty-four as an adult. All three unfold into their many possible outcomes.

The Planet Express crew visits Amy's parents, Leo and Inez, who are destroying the "old" Mars Vegas and constructing a more extravagant one. A group of eco-feminists (calling themselves "eco-feministas") led by Frida Waterfall protest the destruction of the environment, leading to an accident wherein a piece of Frida's jewelry lodges inside Fry's brain. The destruction upsets Leela, but Leo has bribed Professor Farnsworth to rubber stamp the project as environmentally friendly. Leela saves a Martian muck leech, the last of its species, from the site.

Lost on Mars was based on what it might have been like if Mars was populated with a civilization and had an atmosphere billions of years ago. Space Command sends a rocket ship to Mars to investigate a signal that Earth received from Mars. Once the crew arrives on the planet they encounter strange things beneath the surface of the planet. Alex Quin an astronaut enters a monument on Mars where he finds a room full of gold and silver, he also finds a strange box; within this box there is a device which he takes back to the ship. A violent storm erupts on his way back and the rocket ship needs to take off immediately before it strikes. The crew tries to launch but it's too late and the storm hits the ship hard making the ship go out of control directing the ship back towards the planet. One of the astronauts notices something very strange on her monitor which shows in the cargo bay there is a very strong energy field being created. The energy is coming from the box that Alex brought aboard. This energy force is what creates a door way back into time, a door way back into Mar's past. Once they travel back into time the three astronauts find a strange new world, a world of barbaric proportions. While on the surface of Mars they are imprisoned tortured and brought forth to the Siperion Empire for their judgment. Their only hope is to figure out how to get back to their ship in hope they can return home.
