Synopsis
Entre 1911 et 1914, le journaliste américain John Reed couvre pour la revue Metropolitan la guerre civile mexicaine. En 1913, il arrive, après un long voyage en charrette, à l'état-major du général Tomás Urbina, à Durango. Il partage les repas des révolutionnaires mexicains et finit par sympathiser avec eux. On l'appellera désormais Juanito. Le film de Paul Leduc est fondé sur les reportages réunis par John Reed dans son recueil México insurgente (Mexique insurgé).Actors

In 1982, Ari Folman was a nineteen-year-old infantry soldier in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). In 2006, he meets with a friend from his army service period, who tells him of the nightmares connected to his experiences from the Lebanon War. Folman is surprised to find that he remembers nothing from that period. Later that night he has a vision from the night of the Sabra and Shatila massacre, the reality of which he is unable to clearly recall. In his memory, he and his soldier comrades are bathing at night by the seaside in Beirut under the light of flares descending over the city.

In France during the German occupation, a young German naval officer is killed in Paris by a group of leftist activists. The compliant Vichy government seeks to appease the Germans by locating the perpetrators and agreeing to the execution of six people, and a special section is set up for this purpose. The section consists of judges who are too ambitious, cowardly or inhuman to refuse such work. The flames of totalitarianism must be stoked, even with innocent blood, and it is especially convenient to the government if the accused are thoroughly expendable in their eyes.
