A sequel to the fan films Pink Five and Pink Five Strikes Back, Return of Pink Five continues the adventures of Stacey (Pink Five) around the edges of the original Star Wars trilogy. The film was directed by series creator Trey Stokes, who co-wrote the film with Chris Hanel (The Formula). The film has been released in multiple parts. Volume One debuted online at Atomfilms on April 25, 2006. Volume Two premiered July 20, 2006 at the Official Star Wars Fan Film Awards ceremony at the San Diego Comic-Con, and was released online on May 25, 2007, the 30th anniversary of the release of Star Wars.
While Volume One was not eligible for the Official Star Wars Fan Film Awards due to combination of a longer running time and the use of union actors, it was presented as "out of competition feature" due to the long connection of the cast and crew with Atomfilms. Due to a loosening of rules and the change of the Atomfilms contest to a freeform "challenge", Volume Two was entered in the 2007 competition at the Star Wars convention Celebration 4, where it failed to win an award.
In September 2012, funds for Return of Pink Five: Volume Three were successfully raised via Kickstarter and the completed saga was screened at several conventions in 2013.

The Great Gonzo has always been identified as a "whatever". But after he begins having disturbing dreams of abandonment and rejection, he begins to realize just how alone he is in the world. One of his nightmares involves him being denied entry onto Noah's Ark by Noah (F. Murray Abraham). The next morning, Gonzo tells Kermit the Frog that he is getting tired of being called a "whatever." After an alien race appears to be trying to send him a message through bowls of cereal, Gonzo realizes that he may not be so alone after all and climbs to the rooftop to start watching the sky. Using a bolt of lightning, Gonzo communicates with a pair of cosmic fish, revealing to him that he is an alien from outer space.

The film follows the cast of a once-popular television space-drama series called Galaxy Quest. Brothers Walter (Josh Hutcherson) and Danny (Jonah Bobo) can never seem to get along with each other, or with their older teen-aged sister, Lisa (Kristen Stewart). While staying at their divorced father's home while he is away at work and Lisa is asleep, the boys discover an old clockwork-driven space-themed board game called "Zathura" in the basement. The two begin to play the game, the goal to be the first to reach the final space named Zathura. During each turn, the game provides a card with instructions, but the two quickly realize the cards affect reality, starting with a meteor shower. They soon discover the house is floating on a small rock in outer space. Meanwhile, Lisa looks out the window, and believing it is merely dark, goes to shower for her date. When the boys try to warn Lisa about what has happened, they find she is frozen in cryonic sleep as a result of one of the cards. The brothers realize that the only way to end the game and hopefully return to Earth is to reach the end space of Zathura.

Upon discovering a UFO in American airspace, the National Guard sends fighter jets to investigate, and they fire on the craft when it doesn't respond. Belatedly activating a cloaking device too late, the spaceship crashes into the Atlantic ocean, near land. The aliens aboard, Beldar Clorhone and his life-mate Prymaat, survive and quickly adapt to our human way of life, despite standing out with their conical shaped heads. Beldar gets work as an appliance repairman, and when his grateful boss Otto discovers that Beldar has no documentation, he arranges for a false identity, which sends up a red flag that quickly alerts the INS. Meanwhile, after communicating with their world (Remulak) and discovering that a rescue vessel will not arrive for seven "Zurls" (many years), Prymaat informs Beldar that she is pregnant. They now need to completely adapt and safely blend in in order to raise their child among humans. Ambitious INS agent Gorman Seedling and his assistant Eli attempt to capture Beldar and Prymaat, but they are able to elude the two agents.
