Kristen Jaymes Stewart (born April 9, 1990) is an American actress, known for playing the protagonist Bella Swan in The Twilight Saga film series from 2008–12, which has grossed over $3.3 billion worldwide. She is the "face" of Chanel and Balenciaga fashion brands.

Stewart began her career in 1999 and came to prominence playing Jodie Foster's daughter in the 2002 thriller Panic Room. She has since starred in a range of films, including Speak (2004), Zathura (2005), Into The Wild (2007), Adventureland (2009), The Runaways (2010), Snow White and the Huntsman (2012), On the Road (2012), Camp X-Ray (2014), Still Alice (2014) and Equals (2015).

Stewart was listed as the highest-earning female actress in the Vanity Fair "Hollywood Top Earners List of 2010", with an estimated earning of $28.5 million. In 2011, she was named number one on Forbes magazine's list of "Hollywood's Best Actors for the Buck". Forbes also named her as the highest paid actress in 2012, with total earnings of $34.5 million. She won the Rising Star BAFTA Award in 2010, and became the first American actress to win a Cesar Award, when she won Best Supporting Actress in 2015 for her role opposite Juliette Binoche in Clouds of Sils Maria (2014).

Biography

Stewart lives in Los Angeles. In a November 2008 interview with Vanity Fair, Stewart said that she was in a relationship at the time with Michael Angarano, her co-star from the 2004 film Speak.

After meeting on the set of Twilight in 2008, Stewart was in a very low-profile relationship with co-star Robert Pattinson. For a long time, the two did not explicitly confirm a relationship, but paparazzi photographs and eyewitness accounts drove intense media and fan speculation and attention. However, Stewart officially acknowledged her relationship with Pattinson for the first time in July 2012, when Us Weekly published photos of Stewart showing affection with her Snow White and the Huntsman director, Rupert Sanders, with what the Huffington Post called an "affair with...Sanders". The day that the photos were released, Stewart issued a public apology to Pattinson at People Magazine. In a 2014 interview, Pattinson confirmed that he and Stewart had split.

Following rumors that she was dating a woman and questioned about her sexuality, Stewart said in August 2015: "If you feel like you really want to define yourself, and you have the ability to articulate those parameters and that in itself defines you, then do it. But I am an actress, man. I live in the fucking ambiguity of this life and I love it. I don’t feel like it would be true for me to be like, ‘I’m coming out!’ No, I do a job. Until I decide that I’m starting a foundation or that I have some perspective or opinion that other people should be receiving…I don’t. I’m just a kid making movies.
