Ro.Go.Pa.G. (also known as "RoGoPaG") is a 1963 film, which consists of four segments, each written and directed by one of the four film directors - French Jean-Luc Godard (segment "Il Nuovo mondo"), and three Italian: Ugo Gregoretti (segment "Il Pollo ruspante"), Pier Paolo Pasolini (segment "La Ricotta") and Roberto Rossellini (segment "Illibatezza").
The movie title is an abbreviation of the author's last names: Rossellini, Godard, Pasolini, Gregoretti.
Synopsis
Illibatezza ("Chastity") by Roberto Rossellini is a story of a beautiful stewardess which attracts unwanted attention from one of the air travelers - a middle aged American. The two overnight by chance in the same hotel. She has a fiancé back home, to whom she sends 8mm films made with her camera. These show how, in order to shoo away the unwanted flirtatious attentions of the traveler, all she had to do was to act in an aggressively provocative way; his sexual attraction being fueled by the shyness with which she initially tried to endure his advances.Actors

Un vieil homme, accompagné de son grand nigaud de fils, est agenouillé devant la tombe de son épouse, morte après avoir mangé des champignons empoisonnés. Aussitôt, ils se mettent à la recherche d'une femme pour remplacer cette mère et épouse. Avant tout, ils se mettent d'accord pour qu'elle ne soit pas rousse! Au bout d'un an, ils finissent par trouver une très jolie jeune femme, sourde et muette. Pour réunir plus d'argent et améliorer leur habitation (une pauvre baraque en zone industrielle), ils organisent un faux suicide de la jeune épousée, du sommet du Colisée. Malheureusement, celle-ci glisse sur une peau de banane et meurt réellement.

Near London, Oxford and Canterbury in the Middle Ages, stories and adventures of peasants, noblemen, clergy and demons are interwoven. In the first vignette of the film, the merchant Sir January loses his sight, allowing the bride to join with her young lover in secret. In the second story, the Devil ensures that two young peasants are killed by the arm of the Inquisition for their libertine pleasures. In the third, the fool Perkin is involved in an intrigue; he tries to find work, but his attempts ultimately wreak havoc in the city of Oxford. In the fourth story of two youths, Nicolas and Alison, seduce the wife of a carpenter, and when in danger of being caught, they pretend to be two visionaries who predicted the arrival of the new Flood. In the fifth, in the village of Bath, a matron marries Giannozzo; however, their happiness is short-lived. In the sixth story in Cambridge, two students spend fabulous nights with Molly, the wife of a miller. One night Molly, waiting to make love with each of the two boys, goes to bed believing that she is conversing with one of the youths, disclosing their secret. In fact, the one who is on the bed is the consort! In the seventh story three students, cruel in their actions, are achieved by an old man who predicts them to a bad end. Young guys do not get scared, but when the three ingest a poisoned wine, soon find themselves in the company of Gloomy Grim Reaper. In the eighth and final story, a pleasure-loving monk is trying to earn as much food in exchange for extreme unction to a dying man. That same night in the man's convent comes an angel, which leads him to Hell, to show him the terrible punishments that belong to the friars that subvert the message of Christ.

A mysterious figure known only as "The Visitor" appears in the lives of a typical bourgeois Italian family. His arrival is heralded at the gates of the family's Milanese estate by an arm-flapping postman. The enigmatic stranger soon engages in sexual affairs with all members of the household: the devoutly religious maid, the sensitive son, the sexually repressed mother, the timid daughter and, finally, the tormented father. The stranger gives unstintingly of himself, asking nothing in return. The film is divided into four parts, which Godard has subsequently given by name. In the first part, "Theater," Vicky Vitalis, an elderly film director, is casting a new project called "Fatal Bolero," assisted by his nephew, Jérôme. A group of hopeful actors lines up to audition, but Vicky is dissatisfied with each of their line readings. The director nevertheless manages to secure funding from a man called Baron Felix, who himself secures one of the actresses named Sabine, to the chagrin of Sabine's plaintive boyfriend. Later, Jérôme accompanies Vicky's daughter, Camille, a professor of philosophy, as she searches for a copy of The Game of Love and Chance, the play by Pierre de Marivaux. Her intention is to stage the play in war torn Sarajevo. However, unable to find a copy, she settles instead on the Alfred de Musset play One Must Not Trifle with Love, happily noting that she shares the same name as the play's heroine. Jérôme, smitten with his cousin, decides to go to Sarajevo with her, to his mother Sylvie's dismay. Sylvie persuades her brother Vicky to accompany them, and the family's maid, Jamila, also decides to go. Camille and Jérôme decide to cast Jamila in the play as the character Rosette.

Les Carabiniers met en scène deux hommes pauvres appelés pour se battre à la guerre et qu'on trompe en leur promettant toutes les richesses du monde. Ulysse (Marino Masè) et Michelangelo (Albert Juross) reçoivent du roi de leur pays fictif des lettres qui leur accordent une liberté complète tant qu'ils se battront : ils auront tout ce qu'ils désirent : piscines, Maseratis, femmes – et le tout aux frais de l'ennemi. Ils quittent tous les deux leurs épouses (Catherine Ribeiro et Geneviève Galéa) et traversent champs de bataille et villages, en détruisant et pillant tout leur saoul. Ils racontent leurs exploits à leurs femmes sur des cartes postales qu'ils leur envoient, en rapportant les horreurs des batailles. La représentation idéaliste qu'ils se faisaient de la guerre s'en va en morceaux car ils sont toujours pauvres et maintenant blessés.

At night in her bayside mansion, wheelchair-bound Countess Federica (Isa Miranda) is attacked and strangled to death by her husband Filippo Donati (Giovanni Nuvoletti). In turn, an assailant suddenly stabs him to death. Donati's corpse is then dragged to the bay. The police find what they believe to be a suicide note written by the Countess. Donati's murder goes undiscovered.
