Rockets Galore! (released as Mad Little Island in the U.S.) is a 1957 comedy film sequel to Whisky Galore! It was much less successful than its predecessor.
It was directed by Michael Relph and based on the novel by Compton Mackenzie. It stars Jeannie Carson, Donald Sinden and Roland Culver, while Gordon Jackson, Jean Cadell and Catherine Lacey reprise their roles from the previous film. Ronnie Corbett appears as 'Drooby', with cameo appearances by Richard Dimbleby, Michael Foot and Lord Robert Boothby.
Although not a true sequel to 'Whisky Galore', many of the locations were re-used on the island of Barra and many of the characters returned, but often played by different actors and actresses.
Synopsis
In the cold-war era of post-WW2 Britain, the government decides to establish a guided missile base on the Hebridean isle of Todday. The inhabitants are not happy with this disruption of their way of life, and hamper construction as much as they can.Actors

The 1087 is a British Royal Navy motor gun boat that faithfully sees its crew through the worst that World War II can throw at them. After the end of the war, George Hoskins (Richard Attenborough) convinces former skipper Bill Randall (George Baker) and Birdie (Bill Owen) to buy their beloved boat and use it for some harmless, minor smuggling of black market items like wine. But they find themselves transporting ever more sinister cargoes; counterfeit currency and weapons. Though their craft had been utterly reliable and never let them down in wartime, it begins to break down frequently, as if ashamed of its current use. The crew revolt when they are used in the escape of a child murderer and (probable) paedophile.

An audition scene at Covent Garden includes an especially fine rendition of Puccini's Nessun Dorma by Secombe, who, while known mainly as a comedian, had a fine tenor voice, and Mozart's Voi Che Sapete performend by Adele Leigh.

Returning from a cricket match in Ireland, Peter Weston, an Englishman, is left a pet alligator by another passenger who abandons it to him. He is horrified and his first instinct is to get rid of it as soon as possible. However, he soon develops a bond with a young Irishwoman which appears to be centred almost entirely around the animal.
