Synopsis
Rubberface revolves around a young, depressed woman named Janet Taylor (Adah Glassbourg). She meets a dish washer named Tony Maroni (Jim Carrey), an aspiring comedian, at a comedy club. Maroni, however, has little success in comedy, while Janet proves to be far more successful. As the film progresses, their varying ambitions and capabilities as comedians result in their cooperation, which concludes the plot.Actors

The film begins with three furry aliens--the blue Mac (Goldblum), the yellow Zeebo (Wayans), and the red Wiploc (Carrey)--traveling in a space ship. It's been a long time since they've had female companionship, and they receive a broadcast showing human females. In 1843, Ebenezer Scrooge, a bitter and miserly old moneylender at a London counting house holds everything that embodies the joys and spirit of Christmas in contempt. He refuses to visit his cheerful nephew, Fred, at his Christmas dinner party with his family, and he forces his underpaid employee Bob Cratchit to beg to take the day off for his own family. On Christmas Eve, Scrooge is visited by the ghost of his former business partner Jacob Marley, who had died seven years prior and is now forced to spend his afterlife carrying heavy chains forged from his own greedy ways. Marley warns Scrooge that he will suffer an even worse fate if he does not repent. He then tells Scrooge he will be visited by three more spirits that will help guide him.

The film stars Sheila McCarthy as Polly, a worker for a temporary secretarial agency. Polly serves as the narrator for the film, and there are frequent sequences portraying her whimsical fantasies. In January 2000, Dick Harper (Jim Carrey) has just been promoted to Vice President of Communications for the large media corporation Globodyne. The next day, he is asked to appear on the show Money Life, where host Sam Samuels and independent presidential candidate Ralph Nader dub him and all the company's employees as "perverters of the American dream" and claim that Globodyne helps the super rich get even wealthier. As they speak, the company's stock goes into a free-fall and is soon worthless, along with all the employees' pensions, which are in Globodyne's stock. Dick arrives home to find his excited wife Jane (Téa Leoni), who informs him that she took his advice and quit her job as a travel agent after his promotion in order to spend more time with their son Billy. Dick has to break the news over dinner, instantly alarming Jane. Dick tries to think positively, and tries for a few months to get a Vice Presidency at other corporations. After getting no job anywhere, Jane reveals that they'll end up declaring bankruptcy in the next couple of months due to their assets being made up entirely of now-worthless Globodyne stock.

In 1951 in the midst of the Second Red Scare, Peter Appleton is an up-and-coming young screenwriter in Hollywood. A country spider is the friend of a young girl named Leslie McGroarty (voiced by Thora Birch), who is taking piano lessons from a very strict instructor (voiced by Andrea Martin) (incidentally, she's learning to play the actual rhyme) and her cat, Langston. When the instructor is frightened by Itsy, she calls an Exterminator, that uses more and more extreme measures to try to kill Itsy, most of which end up causing pain and destruction to the instructor's home, Langston and the Exterminator himself, which turns out to be a heavily armed android (voiced by Jim Carrey). The Exterminator's methods begin to get even more extreme, escalating from poison and vacuums to guns and explosives, until the instructor's house is eventually blown up. At the end of the film, Itsy is finally reunited with Leslie (who had the sense to get out of the house before the flamethrowers came out), and they go home to the city.
