Karim (Anas El Baz) et Adil (Omar Lotfi), deux amis d'enfance, sont de jeunes oisifs au vocabulaire vulgaire, qui vivent de petits boulots et d'arnaques dans l'un des anciens quartiers européens de la ville de Casablanca (« Casa la blanche ») qu'ils ont rebaptisée « Casanegra » (« Casa la noire ») terme ironique suggéré par un chauffeur de taxi pour exprimer l'abîme entre les riches (de Casablanca) et les pauvres (de Casanegra). Karim, beau gosse bien fringué, gère un réseau d'enfants de rue qui vendent des cigarettes au détail, alors que Adil rêve de partir travailler à Malmö et cherche la somme d'argent nécessaire à son projet. Karim vit dans une famille où le père, ancien ouvrier d'une usine de traitement de poisson, est handicapé majeur, alors que Adil vit avec sa mère et son beau-père psychopathe et violent, et finit par fuir après s'être vengé en brûlant la voiture de ce dernier. Zrirek (Mohamed Benbrahim) un truand mafieux local qui se fait payer en menaçant ses victimes à l'aide d'une perceuse, leur propose de travailler pour lui. Il les envoie d'abord récupérer une somme chez Rami, un homosexuel réticent, qu'ils finissent par tabasser et voler, Dans sa somptueuse villa, Adil découvre une grosse somme qu'il cache. Karim se rend en boîte de nuit de luxe où il rencontre Nabila, la vendeuse de meubles voisine, divorcée et en quête d'amour, mais il est trahi dans son amour par ses vendeurs de cigarettes qui révèlent son vrai visage de paumé. De son côté, Adil fait fuir sa mère en province et lui remet la somme volée à la station d'autocars. Lors d'une réunion dans la boîte de nuit miteuse qu'il fréquente, Zrirek, qui s'intéresse beaucoup aux courses, leur propose de droguer un cheval gagnant pour miser sur un autre et gagner beaucoup d'argent, mais le cheval s'enfuit et dans la course-poursuite qui s'ensuit, Zrirek est blessé et arrêté par la police. La fin nous remet au début de l'histoire.

The 69-ton fishing vessel Jeonjinho fails to catch as much fish as its crew had hoped. To make more money, the crew decides to smuggle thirty illegal immigrants into Korea. But things don't go according to plan when the Jeonjinho encounters heavy fog, rain and waves on its return journey, while also being chased by a ship from the South Korean Maritime Police. On orders from the captain, several crew members hide the illegal immigrants inside the fishing tank, where they are in danger of suffocating to death. Sakthi (Vijay) is the adopted son of a Madurai-based don Sivan (Mohanlal) and is also his right-hand man, bodyguard and driver. He hates the police due to a police officer killing his father, who was Sivan's driver, in his childhood. His hatred is such that he hates the khaki colour (which is worn by policemen in India), constantly teases his friend Gopal (Soori), who is a Sub-inspector and even loses romantic interest on a woman named Shanthi (Kajal Aggarwal) after he finds out that she is a police inspector. However, when Sivan is insulted by the new Police Commissioner of Madurai (Pradeep Rawat), he forces Sakthi to become an IPS officer to save his crime syndicate and prove the Commissioner's words wrong (A policeman can think like a criminal, but a criminal can never think like a policeman). Reluctantly Sakthi passes all the tests and training in Civil service exams without any effort (due to high political influence). He takes charge as Assistant Commissioner of Police [law and order] of Madurai center, Sakthi gives free rein to Sivan and his henchmen, who wreak havoc over Madurai, until one of their activities inadvertently causes a gas leak which destroys a school and some nearby buildings, killing several people, including women and children. This incident, compounded by the assault of a woman (Meenal), whose husband was killed in the gas leak, by Sivan's henchmen when she had come to the police station to lodge a complaint against Sivan, causes Sakthi to take up the path of an honest and upright police officer. Sakthi's new persona is not liked by Sivan and after a heated argument between the two, he disowns Sakthi. A cat-and-mouse game then begins between Sivan and Sakthi, with Sivan, his henchmen and his family determined to humiliate Sakthi at every opportunity, while Sakthi, assisted by Shanthi and Gopal, tries to rid Madurai of Sivan's influence. Sakthi is soon promoted to Deputy Commissioner of Police for his efforts.

Vishi (Ajay Devgn) is a small-time crook who would do anything for money. He falls in love with Khushi (Sonakshi Sinha), a simple HR executive, who then begins a relationship with him. Jai single-handedly kills them all and is revealed to be a professional assassin and previous right-hand man of underworld criminal Xavier Fonseca (Anandaraj), nicknamed AJ. After AJ single-handedly rescued Xavier's sister Marina (Manasvi Mamgai) from a bunch of kidnappers, Marina falls for Jai but he rejects her as he is been married to Anusha (Yami Gautam).
