Samsara Nauke (Kannada: ಸಂಸಾರ ನೌಕ) is a 1936 Indian Kannada language social drama film directed by H. L. N. Simha and produced by K. Nanjappa. This film was the fourth sound film produced in Kannada cinema and the first melodrama film based on social issues. The film met with huge success at the box-office upon release and was subsequently released in Tamil in 1948 with the same star cast.
The film cast consisted of B. R. Panthulu and M. V. Rajamma, both making their on screen debuts, in the lead roles. Both these stars went on to become one of the most popular personalities in South Indian cinema. Along with them, Dikki Madhava Rao and S. K. Padmadevi were seen in the character roles.
Synopsis
The film's plot is based on a social theme of the life of Sundar (Panthulu). Much against the wish of his grandfather (Dikki Madhava Rao), he marries his beloved Sarala (Rajamma). This act makes him to move away from his house and settle in his in-laws place. Few days later, his in-laws begin to treat him badly and eventually he loses his job as well. His misery deepens when he is held responsible for the murder of Sushila, a girl whom his grandfather wanted him to marry. How Sundar comes out of all the traumatic conditions forms the rest of the story.Actors

The film opens to a woodcutter chopping down a tree. He works for Siddappa (Vajramuni), a landlord in the village. The tree he has been working on, breaks at the stem and falls on him, killing him instantly. His wife Parvathamma (M. V. Rajamma) approaches Siddappa with her two children (Vishwa and Veerabhadra) and request him to pay for the services of her deceased husband. Siddappa is however unconvinced and drives them away, which would go on to influence Veerabhadra ("Bhadra") hugely as he grows. Both the children grow into hardworking men; Vishwa however works for Siddappa and stays in his good books and Bhadra grows into an easy going man with the least amount respect for Siddappa.

After many years in exile, Don Juan returns to Seville in secret. His wife has threatened to have him thrown in prison. Next morning he is surprised to find that all the town knows he is back (not surprising really as he had a big sword fight on arrival). Rodrigo, an admirer of his, follows Don Juan everywhere, wanting to be just like him, and able to give a good impression of him. Don Juan prepares to flee to France but Rodrigo is killed by a jealous husband who believes he is Don Juan and all Seville now believes him dead. He attends his own magnificent funeral, but finds many discomforts now while pretending that Don Juan is dead, before finally sorting things out.

Joe, an amoral capitalist and boyfriend of Sarah Griswold, gets a job as a clerk in a New York City advertising agency and starts to work his way to the top. He is fired, but Sarah intervenes on his behalf and he manages to create an ad that earns him a promotion. He meets the mistress of his boss and decides he wants to win her from him. The company is in trouble, but Joe has invested wisely and sells out his boss to his competitor. He abandons Sarah and proposes to the mistress, who marries him. Joe becomes head of his agency, but because he neglects his new wife, she becomes the mistress of another man. He attempts suicide, but Sarah rescues him and nurses him back to health.
