It depicts the lives of several groups of characters interacting at the beach of Forte dei Marmi during the mid-1980s. The film is set thirty years after the Vanzinas' 1982 film Sapore di mare, also set at Forte dei Marmi, but is not a sequel to that film.

Synopsis
Étés 1984 et 1985, sur la plage de Forte dei Marmi : le film nous offre un portrait attachant de l'Italie des années 1980 avec ses personnages aux aventures entremêlées. On y rencontre la famille Proietti, de Rome, composée d'Alberto commerçant et passionné de foot, sa femme Elena, et leur fille Sabrina, 17 ans, qui fait tourner la tête de Luca et de Chicco, deux camarades d'université. À côté d'eux, l'honorable De Marco, Napolitain en vacances avec son épouse, se laisse séduire par Susy, originaire de Salerne ; cette dernière cherche la célébrité et parvient ainsi à intervenir dans le programme télévisé Drive In. Une thésarde de Florence, Anna, tombe amoureuse d'Armando, un jeune du lieu. Bien sûr, le maître-nageur fait rêver toutes les demoiselles étrangères en vacances. Enfin, les parents de Luca, de la bourgeoisie milanaise, se rappellent avec nostalgie le bon vieux temps des années 1960.Actors

In this romantic comedy, Liechtenhaus (a fictional tiny European principality) is being ruled by Prince Max (David Warner), but the little country is nearly bankrupt. In fact, if he can't get an infusion of cash quickly, he may have to sell the royal palace to American developers as a casino complex. Fortunately, he's got a very pretty daughter, Princess Sofia (Barbara Snellenburg) and the dowry he will get from marrying her off to the unappealing, but wealthy heir to a similar nearby principality will more than get his tiny country in the clear. Unfortunately for him, his daughter is adamant about refusing this arranged marriage and prefers romance with a handsome but penniless windsurfing instructor (Raoul Bova) to saving her country. Nefarious schemes are called for and when the Princess is kidnapped, something must be done.

The film is set in the Sixties, in the Tuscan beach of Forte dei Marmi. A group of young friends spends his holidays at sea. In Christmas of 1983 two families collide in Cortina d'Ampezzo. The first is very rich, elegant, refined taste and character and comes from Milan, consisting of Christian De Sica and Riccardo Garrone, while the second is made up of people extremely vulgar and rough to Rome contains the funny characters Claudio Amendola, Marilù Tolo and Mario Brega. The stories and adventures of the members of the two families intersect and give rise to hilarious misunderstandings, while a penniless pianist (Jerry Calà) fall in love again with his ex-girlfriend (Stefania Sandrelli). Roberto Covelli (De Sica) has an American girlfriend but worthy of much attention and persistently courted by Mario Marchetti (Amendola) which was initially became involved in a meeting with the girlfriend of a friend of his. The contact between the two families will be done through the acquaintance of Mario with a member of Covelli which, when seen in front of the rude common people of Rome are upset. After many adventures finished good and evil Samantha's girlfriend, Roberto, will notice the sad courting the mild Mario and give him what he wishes for one night before leaving for ever's America. Meanwhile, the Covelli Family with astonishment and regret discovers that his young son Roberto is gay. One year after the holiday, families reunite in Sardinia during the summer and will create a new whirlwind of hilarious situations.
