C'est le premier long métrage produit dans le nouvel État de Yougoslavie, immédiatement après la Seconde Guerre mondiale. Tourné en 1946 sur une période de deux mois, produit par la société serbe Avala, presque uniquement avec du personnel croate, le film est sorti le 29 avril 1947. Les acteurs n'ont été rétribués que per diem, comme notamment Irena Kolesar qui tient le rôle-titre.
Slavica a été très bien reçu par le public, en dépit d'un certain nombre de lacunes techniques et de naïveté dans la narration. Le film a été vu par près de deux millions de personnes dans l'ex-Yougoslavie.
Synopsis
En Dalmatie, de jeunes pêcheurs, dont Marin et son épouse Slavica, montent une coopérative et construisent un bateau. La Seconde Guerre mondiale éclate et la région est occupée par l'Italie. Les troupes italiennes tentent de s'emparer du navire, mais les coopérateurs parviennent à le dissimuler. Le jeune couple est emprisonné. Libérés par les Partisans, Slavica et Marin s'enrôlent dans leurs rangs et participent à plusieurs actions de résistance.Comments

Les événements relatés dans les deux parties de La Révolution française sont nombreux. Les producteurs ont voulu relever le défi inédit de couvrir l’ensemble de la période révolutionnaire et donc tous ses principaux événements (ce qui en fait d'ailleurs un film pédagogique malgré son parti pris clairement dantoniste). L'œuvre passe cependant très vite sur la guerre de Vendée, qui n’est mentionnée que quatre fois, notamment par Robespierre et Desmoulins, qui dénonce le massacre d’ « un peuple entier ». Le film se termine sur l’exécution de Robespierre et Saint-Just en 1794 et omet d'évoquer la suite des événements. Toutefois, la Révolution française s'étend jusqu'en 1799, année du coup d'État de Napoléon Bonaparte.

The film begins with VIPs visiting the headquarters of the Strategic Air Command (SAC) at Offutt AFB in Omaha, Nebraska. During the trip, an alert is initiated by USAF's early warning radar that an unidentified flying object is making an unauthorized intrusion into American airspace. Defense protocols dictate that the SAC must always keep several bomber groups airborne 24 hours a day in the event of a nuclear attack on the United States. Following the alert, bombers are ordered to proceed to predetermined aerial "fail-safe points" to await their final "go" orders before proceeding towards Soviet targets.

In 1943 two Belarusian boys are digging in a sand field looking for abandoned rifles in order to join the Soviet partisan forces. Yustin, an old man, warns them not to dig (using sarcasm and reverse psychology). One of the boys, Flyora (Aleksei Kravchenko), finds an SVT-40 rifle. The next day partisans arrive at his house and take Flyora with them, to the dismay of Flyora's mother. During the last days of the Vietnam War, USAF Lieutenant Colonel Iceal E. "Gene" Hambleton (Gene Hackman) call sign BAT-21 Bravo, is flying on board a EB-66C electronic warfare aircraft, engaged in electronic countermeasures preparatory to a major bombing strike. Without warning, a number of SA-2 Guideline surface to air missiles are launched from South Vietnam, targeting their aircraft. A massive SAM explosion tears off the tail and Hambleton, in the navigator's position, ejects as the sole survivor of the six-man crew.
