Italy, 1700: Franco is the illegitimate son of a pirate died at sea, and now he works as a waiter in a tavern. Franco and Ciccio are two street artists of Sicily; after failing in a lot of debt, they are forced to flee to America. There they are immediately enrolled, since the Second World War has just broke out. Don Franco and Don Ciccio are the respective pastors of the two principal parishes of a village in Sicily. Piscitello naturally takes advantage of the situation to blackmail the sergeant, demanding concessions to no end and subjecting him to harassment of any kind .
