Straight is a 2009 Indian film starring Vinay Pathak and Gul Panag in the lead roles. It is directed by Parvati Balagopalan, and produced by Idream Productions. The film is also shot in a restaurant in Leicester square, London and some parts are shot in Wembley. This movie marks the debut of a new actor named Anuj who plays a part in the love triangle. It also features Snigdha Pandey, Siddharth Makkar, Rasik Dave, Ketki Dave and Damandeep Singh in supporting roles.

Synopsis

In the midst of central London, a successful Indian restaurant called 'Gaylord' is run by a Londoner of Indian origin called Pinu (Vinay Pathak) . A simple soul at heart, Pinu has many complexes - a special one being that he is a virgin and has experienced no intimacy with a woman. He agrees to come to India to have an arranged marraige with Payal (Snigdha Pandey), but is crest fallen when his Fiancée elopes on the wedding day, leaving a note behind ridiculing Pinu and his personality. This fuels Pinu's biggest fear of being laughed at by people... an ever-repeating phenomenon with him. Pinu is quite an introvert and has no real friends...the closest he has ever gotten to a friendship is with his foster brother Rajat (Siddharth Makkar), who is quite a contrast to his own personality. A casual air about him, he is the lead singer of a rock band. Rajat is very fond of Pinu, though is often a source of annoyance to him as he finds Pinu really funny.

The three meet each other for the first time at Mumbai's airport and decide to find a place together. Chuck Levine, a womanizing bachelor, and Larry Valentine, a widower struggling to raise his two children, are two veteran New York City fire fighters. During a routine sweep of a burned building, a segment of floor collapses on Chuck. However, Larry quickly shields him from the falling debris, saving his life. Later, he and Chuck wake up in a hospital, where Chuck vows to repay Larry in any way possible. This incident serves as a catalyst for Larry's epiphany: death is both inevitable and unpredictable. This prompts him to significantly increase his life insurance policy, but he runs into difficulties naming his children as primary beneficiaries in his policy. He is told he should get remarried so his new spouse could be the primary beneficiary; however, it doesn't specify who he has to marry. Inspired by a newspaper article about domestic partnerships, Larry asks Chuck to enter a civil union with him. Although Chuck declines at first, he is reminded of his debt to Larry and finally agrees, entering a domestic partnership and becoming Larry's primary beneficiary in the event of his death. To their dismay, however, New York City investigators soon arrive to inquire about their abrupt partnership, under suspicion of fraud. Chuck and Larry decide to enlist the help of lawyer Alex McDonough, played by Jessica Biel, who suggests they get married and move in together to prove they're committed. Chuck reluctantly agrees. The pair soon travel to Canada for a quick marriage (so quick they use a nearby homeless person as the best man) and begin living together.

Le jeune Jimmy est immédiatement troublé par Angela qui dort désormais séparée de son mari. Celle-ci trouve une rose déposée dans sa poche puis un mot doux tout à fait explicite. Angela soupçonne d’abord Lance l'architecte, puis devine que l'auteur des lettres est le jeune garçon qui lui fait comprendre qu’il est capable de blesser et même tuer son mari pour changer sa vie. Les fouilles se poursuivent, ainsi que les malentendus, jusqu'à ce qu’Ignazio, convaincu par Jimmy de se rendre de nuit dans la fosse pour y découvrir un trésor est coincé par un éboulement provoqué par le garçon diabolique. Pendant ce temps, Angela a cédé à l'architecte. Ignazio est finalement sorti de ce mauvais pas à la suite des remords de Jimmy. Mais l'arrivée des invités, tous ces événements qui s’enchaînent, l’accident d'Ignazio causés par le jeune secrétaire-amant ont secoué la routine ennuyeuse du couple d'âge mûr, qui, en se séparant de ses hôtes, semble avoir retrouvé une nouvelle harmonie.

She also bars Alfie from any further contact with Malcolm, forcing Alfie to watch from a distance as Humphrey steps into his fatherly role. When a health check reveals Alfie has tubercular shadows on his lungs, the diagnosis, combined with his separation from his son, leads him to have a brief mental breakdown.
