Azhagu Raja (Karthik), is the only son of the Muthukrishnan family. He owns an unpopular cable channel called "Triple A". The cable company has only two employees, Raja and Kalyanam (Santhanam). Nothing they do improves the company's fortunes. By chance, Raja meets Devi Priya (Kajal Aggarwal) when she is singing at a wedding. Her unusual voice irritates him and they argue. One morning in his house, Saravanan (Udhayanidhi Stalin) receives his ex-girlfriend, Meera's (Hansika Motwani) wedding invitation. He phones his friend Parthasarathy aka Partha (Santhanam) to come with his janvasa car. On his way to Pondicherry, Saravanan thinks of his flashback. He was a ruthless youth. One day in traffic, he sees Meera and falls for her on the site. He follows her to a cloth shop and also to her Air Hostess class. He sees her house and he and Partha goes to her house as Meera calls them. There, Meera threatens Saravanan by showing her dad's photo, who is a Deputy Commissioner. But still, Saravanan follows her and asks her to love him. Meera takes her to her dad's office and he asks Saravanan to stop following Meera. Meera tells Saravanan that she has some qualifications required by her lover like shaving regularly, dressing well, breaking his friendship with Partha, coming on time, etc. Saravanan tells this to Partha and Partha asks him if Meera or he is best for him. Saravanan tells Meera is more important to him than Partha and this causes a break between Saravanan's and Partha's friendship. Later, Saravanan joins the broken love of Partha and asks him to rejoin his love. Partha agrees and then they go to Mumbai, following Meera in a flight. There, Meera alas tells that she loves Saravanan. After some months, Meera calls Saravanan once, but he does not pick up the phone and tells Partha that Meera is not real love and it is all a drama. But he really tells this for fun. But Partha had accidentally switched on the phone while Saravanan told all these. Meera, mistaking him for intentionally misusing her, comes there and breaks their love. Now, at Pondicherry, during Meera's marriage, both Saravanan and Partha end up drunk and tell a small story, in a comical way describing the broken love of Saravanan and Meera. Just as the marriage is going to happen, Rajini Murugan (Arya) comes there with a pregnant girl and his wife (Andrea Jeremiah) and tells that Meera's groom has a girlfriend who is pregnant by him and that the girl Rajini Murugan is with, is that girl. The groom agrees his mistake and reunites with his old girlfriend. Saravanan and Partha walk off the Hall, just then Meera comes and hugs Saravanan, hence reuinting with him.

Anand (Jai) is a young carefree boy from Salem who comes to Chennai to stay along with his friend Chandru (Santhanam) to pursue his dream to become an actor. Anand uses the help from his friend Chandru, a television journalist, and his newly found girlfriend, Divya (Priya Anand). Meanwhile, minister Viduthalai, who was touted to become the next chief minister, is killed by minister Anbu Chezhiyan (Sampath Raj), which accidentally gets recorded on tape of an Ad film director Vinoth. He befriends a famous actress Pooja (Lakshmi Rai). They both see the video and inform the joint commissioner Kailasam, who is also a hand-in-glove in the murder. Kailasam sends some goons to get the tape and Vinoth evades. After a long chase, they get him killed in a train, where Anand and Divya were travelling. Anand, having witnessed the murder places the tape into Divya's bag, which she misses in the train. Anand develops a friendship with her after this. In an urge to become an actor he always observes the character of people with the strange attitude and one such person is John Vijay. Anand joins him and John promises to make him an actor. He would take Anand to a stranger's home, break the house and do some stuffs as if they were thief. One such house was that of Pooja, where they go and get some information regarding her. On that eve, Anand befriends Pooja, when he saves her when she was laid in the pool of blood, after being attacked by the goons. She helps him in becoming an actor and asks some photos of his to get him a chance. When Anand goes to the Pooja's home, he finds her dead and Anand is put to blame (as he was the one present). Anand goes underground, finally mistaken by Divya and her mother. Atlast, it is known that John has merely used him and it was he (John) who committed this cold-blooded murder, as told by minister. Joint Commissioner Kailasam is after Anand and the tape and finally, Anand reminds of the tape accidentally put in to the handbag of Divya. The tape goes to the right hands, to that of Gopi (Pooja's media friend) who gets it and publicizes. In the end, all the baddies are killed and Anand has become a real life hero instead of acting hero.
