Produced by P. Kabilan of Dream Valley Corporation, the film features Rahman, Lakshmi Rai, Urvashi, Sampath Raj and 'Thalaivaasal' Vijay in supporting roles, with film score and soundtrack by Yuvan Shankar Raja, while the camera was handled by Arvind Krishna. The film was released on 10 July 2009. The story of the film resembles the English movie Following (1998), and the climax resembles a Hollywood movie Enemy of the State (1998).
Synopsis
Anand (Jai) is a young carefree boy from Salem who comes to Chennai to stay along with his friend Chandru (Santhanam) to pursue his dream to become an actor. Anand uses the help from his friend Chandru, a television journalist, and his newly found girlfriend, Divya (Priya Anand). Meanwhile, minister Viduthalai, who was touted to become the next chief minister, is killed by minister Anbu Chezhiyan (Sampath Raj), which accidentally gets recorded on tape of an Ad film director Vinoth. He befriends a famous actress Pooja (Lakshmi Rai). They both see the video and inform the joint commissioner Kailasam, who is also a hand-in-glove in the murder. Kailasam sends some goons to get the tape and Vinoth evades. After a long chase, they get him killed in a train, where Anand and Divya were travelling. Anand, having witnessed the murder places the tape into Divya's bag, which she misses in the train. Anand develops a friendship with her after this. In an urge to become an actor he always observes the character of people with the strange attitude and one such person is John Vijay. Anand joins him and John promises to make him an actor. He would take Anand to a stranger's home, break the house and do some stuffs as if they were thief. One such house was that of Pooja, where they go and get some information regarding her. On that eve, Anand befriends Pooja, when he saves her when she was laid in the pool of blood, after being attacked by the goons. She helps him in becoming an actor and asks some photos of his to get him a chance. When Anand goes to the Pooja's home, he finds her dead and Anand is put to blame (as he was the one present). Anand goes underground, finally mistaken by Divya and her mother. Atlast, it is known that John has merely used him and it was he (John) who committed this cold-blooded murder, as told by minister. Joint Commissioner Kailasam is after Anand and the tape and finally, Anand reminds of the tape accidentally put in to the handbag of Divya. The tape goes to the right hands, to that of Gopi (Pooja's media friend) who gets it and publicizes. In the end, all the baddies are killed and Anand has become a real life hero instead of acting hero.Actors

The movie opens to a school where a boy recites before the school. Another boy is seen running to school as he is late. The teacher punishes him comparing to the boy who recited earlier, who is his younger step-brother. Enmity grows in the older boy as he is always compared to this younger brother. The younger brother burns the photo of the father of the older one as he was the reason for his defeat in the school's kabadi match. In retaliation, the older brother throws the younger one into a well. Watching him get drowned in the well, the older brother runs away from the village.

Michael Prithviraj Narayanan (Atharvaa) is a Pizza Delivery Boy, his mother is Mary (Devadarshini) and his bestfriends are Jagan (Jagan) and Christina (Raai Laxmi). Prithviraj receives complaints from his boss (Manobala) for slow pizza delivery, he follows every rule on riding the bike after a bike accident where he witnessed his father's death. Prithviraj falls in love with Samyuktha aka Sam (Priya Anand), they become friends and she asks him to buy a bike. Samyuktha suggested him to get a Ducati Diavel known as Raven. But that very bike brings danger to Prithvi due to a shocking past. One day Prithviraj and Sam get into an argument when he attempts to kiss her and she tells him that she only likes him as a friend. On the way home, Samyuktha is kidnapped by mysterious bikers. Prithviraj, Jagan and Christina look for clues to find the kidnappers. The kidnapper is revealed to be Don Stoney (Johnny Tri Nguyen) who was the first owner of Prithviraj's bike. Don Stoney named his bike as the Raven for its extreme speed. Stoney fired after he beats a guy who scratches his Raven. Stoney is obsessed with his Raven, Stoney's brother rides the Raven competing Michael. At the race, Stoney's brother loses the Raven to Michael and Stoney's brother commit's suicide. After that Michael and his father met an accident which kills his father. Michael received a call from Stoney who asked Michael to come to his hideout at Mahé. Michael enters a race against Stoney and wagers pink slips for the Raven. During the race, Stoney gains an advantage, but loses it when Michael uses his extreme skill to catch up to Stoney, handing the victory to Michael. Afterwards, Stoney release Samyuktha and says that he does not need Raven without winning it. Michael and Samyuktha flees with Raven after the win.

Lingesan (Vikram) is a bodybuilder from the suburbs of Chennai, whose main ambition is to become Mr. India. He wins the title of Mr. Tamil Nadu, which gives him entry to the Mr. India pageant. He is infatuated by Diya (Amy Jackson), a leading supermodel. Diya is soon blacklisted and all her advertisement film contracts are cancelled by John (Upen Patel), her co-star in all her advertisements, after she constantly rejected his advances. After having killed the notorious extortionist Mayil Vaaganam in the first film, Duraisingam (Suriya) has gone undercover after meeting the Home Minister and is working as an NCC officer in a school in Thoothukudi. The only people who know about this operation are the Chief Minister and Home Minister apart from himself. Sathya (Hansika Motwani) is a student who falls for Duraisingam though he is waiting to marry Kavya (Anushka Shetty), his love interest from the previous film. Susai (Santhanam), a local who works in the same school shows Duraisingam parts of Thoothukudi and also tells him about the rogue elements dominating the area helping him in his surveillance. He requests the Home Minister to transfer Erimalai (Vivek) and another cop for assisting him. Sathya's moves are frequently repulsed by Duraisingam who learns that Sathya is the niece of Thangaraj (Rahman). Bhai (Mukesh Rishi) and Thangaraj, are two criminals who control the area. Bhai and Thangaraj have connections with an international gangster and drug lord Danny (Danny Sapani).

Siva (Nakul) is a nice guy who doesn't believe in the concept of love. True to his hatred, he also doesn't hesitate to go and break up love birds. Pooja (Poorna) on the other hand believes strongly in the force of love and does whatever she can to ensure that lovers get united. The story takes a turn when Siva's sister falls in love with Pooja's cousin. As expected, Siva tries to break the couple while Pooja unites them.
